About the Role & Team
The CGI Supervisor will work closely with our studio's Production teams, studio leadership, Post-Production, and our technology team for approximately 4 months to design and develop core tools for an evolving real time pipeline and production strategy.
What You Will Do
- Help drive the design, implementation, and evolution of a standardized Pipeline for the productions, applying show and facility resources.
- Work with the technology leadership, show leadership, and production management to ensure that the pipeline meets the needs of the company at large and diverges as little as possible *** ween shows, while still meeting the needs of the individual productions.
- Work with the show's production team and studio leadership to ensure adequate resource coverage and balance to meet the needs of a production.
- Monitoring the project's approval phases to minimize complications, schedule delays or budgetary overages.
- Ensure show leadership and animation ser *** providers are aligned in budget and complexity parameters and expectations.
- Partner directly with the animation ser *** provider throughout the production to strategize solutions around complexity and scope.
- Work with production to build clear, complete and comprehensive set of pre-production materials that balances creative vision, production capabilities and budget requirements is delivered to our partner *** .
- Act as an escalation point for Executive Producers, Production Management, and Artist Management to resolve co *** icts; ensures limited resources are effectively applied, and artists efficiently tasked by matching artist skill-set to assignments, identifying cross-utilization opportunities whenever possible.
- Promote a positive and productive work environment and leads collaborative efforts across the facility.
Required Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate has previous supervising experience and can integrate artistic vision with technical know-how.
- BS in Computer Science or Computer Graphics or equivalent industry experience required.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in animation production technology.
- Experience managing software, pipeline, and/or technology teams.
- Must be able to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Unreal / Realtime pipeline experience is a significant plus.
- Solution-oriented outlook and a pro-active personality; willing to roll up their sleeves and directly fix shot, data, or asset issues.
- Knowledge of all CG production processes required. These include modeling, rigging, surfacing, lighting, and EFX.
- Well versed in rendering with experience in shaders, geometry processing and lighting.
- Experience with CPU and GPU optimizations.
- General experience with C/C++. Python, shell scripting and process automation in a production environment.
- Must also be well versed and have production experience with multiple DCC packages in Maya, Nuke, Houdini, Arnold, After EFX, and Photoshop. Toon boom Harmony a plus.
- Experience dealing with overseas animation *** is a plus
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, California is $2,126.40 to $2,480.80 per week based on a 40 hour work week, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
