Dotdash *** is seeking a Senior Director of Development to join its newly created Video Strategy team. This creative leader will be highly i *** uential and entrepreneurial, with a proven track record of leading the development and the execution of digital video franchises for entertainment brands.
The Senior Director will work proactively with brand partners and video leads to develop a data-backed slate of original programming built to scale and grow loyalty on YouTube, while also being designed to generate moments for other platforms (TikTok, Instagram, O&O, etc).
Candidates must also have a successful history of working with and directing high-profile talent and experts in their fields.

Pay Range
Salary: $115,000 - $140,000
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash *** 's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives. - Create and oversee the end to end development workflow from pre-production to post-production, including leading brainstorming sessions and providing creative feedback for new and existing series.
- Must be able to execute and be accountable for their own projects, working closely with other team resources - need to navigate and thrive in a start-up like culture.
- Build a positive, success-oriented environment where innovation and creativity are encouraged.
- Establish and teach methods to research and understand talent and topic appeal.
- Develop systems and documentation to maintain series quality from pilot phase to episodic series production.
- Display leadership and pride in the work, the Senior Director must be able to i *** uence all levels of the organization.
- Must have an understanding of business and brand priorities.
Must-haves
- Extensive and proven experience in ideating, directing, producing and marshaling scalable YouTube videos from pilot stage to recurring series.
- 5+ years of experience in developing and executing a video strategy for a major *** company/brand or digital first publisher.
- Must foster a collaborative and positive environment, working to bring out the best in everyone around them.
- Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Is an active consumer of Internet video, is aware of cultural trends and how they can i *** uence the development of new formats.
- Passionate, curious and willing to collaborate, test and learn.
- Can communicate effectively about programming strategy and coach the team on the principles of creative execution.
