The Director of Production, Branded Video must understand the nuances of creating custom video content for brands across the Lifestyle, Beauty, Retail, Pharma, & Finance categories. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be a diplomat when working with internal and external stakeholders. This role will report to the *** President of Branded Video. In this role, you will oversee the production process for branded video content, from brainstorming ideas to final delivery. Working closely with the VP of Branded Video Production, you will ensure that all branded video content is produced to the highest possible standard, delivered on time, and within budget.

Essential Job Functions

Responsibilities

60%

• Prioritize and delegate campaign responsibilities, field RFPs, lead meetings, and multitask across the various branded campaigns and teams
• Attend IKOC to record information for accounting, pricing, and production to ensure all data is up-to-date
• Manage budgets ensuring that all video projects stay within budget and communicate with the *** President of Branded Video and other Directors of Production on any overages or deficits for further action
• Collaborate with *** President of Branded Video on the production process
• Ensure work is evenly distributed with bandwidth, experience levels, and expertise accounted for
• Set and communicate deadlines across the department
• Ensure the production team is working collaboratively, constructively, efficiently and following processes and procedures.
• Implement the production strategy for branded video production in collaboration with the VP of Branded Video Production
• Onboard new video producers ensuring protocol is followed
• Build trust with the team and give feedback when needed
• Keep the team on track and working toward its goals of innovation, repeat business, and revenue growth

• Oversee multiple, simultaneous production budgets, timelines, and wrap reports
• Cultivate relationships with external vendors and freelancers as necessary.
• Problem-solve production challenges as they arise relating to budgets, logistics, and schedules

Qualifications and Job Requirements

Education

• B.A. or B.S. is preferred, but not required.

Experience

• Minimum of 8 years experience in a managerial position in *** at a network, digital company, or creative agency. Must be professional, diplomatic, and with a collaborative spirit.

• Prior people and team management experience
• Proficient in Airtable and other organization tools: Dropbox, G-drive, etc.
• Must have industry standards regarding average crew rates, rental rates, etc.
• Must be results-oriented, focusing on client satisfaction and return business.

Pay Range
Salary: $112,000 - $140,000

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash *** 's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives. Job Description

The Director of Production oversees the day-to-day operations of Dotdash *** 's Testing Lab and photo studio in New York City. The Lab product testing program as we expand our portfolio of unbiased product testing and reviews, focusing on original content and visual assets. This is an ideal opportunity for an organized, proactive individual who has the desire to gain experience in a fast-paced *** , product testing and production environment.

This role is responsible for managing the staff, planning and organizing schedules, assessing available resources, and coming up with efficiencies that will streamline the workflow. We're looking for someone with 5+ years of experience project management, production, or operations. This role is required to be onsite. Candidates must be able to commute daily to Dotdash *** 's office in New York City's financial district.

Your day-to-day will look like:

• Directs and oversees lab operational activities to make sure that all aspects of testing run seamlessly
• Partners with a facility coordinator to establish an overarching space plan to determine scheduling, resources, and equipment needed
• Serves as a lab point person with internal and external partners and stakeholders
• Collaborates with Commerce, Video, Photo, and Editorial teams to keep them in the loop about upcoming product categories being tested and the logistics surrounding those tests
• Overseeing lab staffing, including hiring testers, videographers, photographers, and prop stylists
• Stays current on external trends, testing standards and competitors' practices
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and develops short-term and long-term strategies to distinguish Dotdash Labs from competitors

Position Summary

The Virtual Production TD (Primary Operator) forms part of the core Stagecraft software operating team. They are the lead user in charge of operating the Stagecraft software stack, ensuring scenes are fully working and performant. Additional tasks include manipulating and aligning the scenes to match with physical set builds, and the matching of look and colour, to create a seamless blend *** ween the physical and virtual world in camera. The role reports to the Lead Virtual Production TD and Virtual Production Supervisor, but also collates and feeds back issues with assets, software & hardware back to the Stagecraft Coordinator.

What You'll Do

• Operation and troubleshooting of Stagecraft Virtual Production tool set
• Assist with asset ingest, scene setup, optimization, and validation of look and performance of scenes in StageCraft
• Assist with troubleshooting a variety of issues including mocap connectivity, interactive tool behaviour, and assets
• Recording takes and tracking shot/scene names with live action unit
• Matching look and placement of digital environments, characters and set dressing to real world counterparts
• Calibrate and ensure connection of virtual camera(s) to live action camera(s)
• Make scene adjustments to achieve the goals of the key creatives on-set, including lighting, animation, set dressing, and colour correction
• Provide time-to-completion estimates for changes or troubleshooting issues
• Routing of video signals for display, monitor, and recording
• Development of "quick fix" tools to streamline workflows
• Triage and reporting of issues to engineering
• Provide deliverables from Virtual Production to post-VFX
• Works on the post-production of data derived from capture techniques, including processing and applying motion capture data, 3D scan data, photogrammetric images and other data types
• Live switching of creature/actor retargets and visibility
• Daily setup and real time retargeting of actors to creatures

What We're Looking For

• Must be able to execute technically difficult work and maintain a productive attitude under the pressure of live action production
• Must be detail oriented, highly organized and be able to handle a variety of tasks in an efficient manner
• Creative technical problem solver, able to improvise solutions in pressure situations
• VFX production / pipeline experience (preferably as a Virtual Production LTD, Layout Artist, Generalist, Lighting TD, Compositor, or Pipeline Engineer)
• Knowledge and troubleshooting of assets in a VFX pipeline
• Must be highly computer literate with Linux and Windows Operating Systems
• Python scripting within digital content creation applications
• Must be an excellent troubleshooter to diagnose and solve issues in complex integrated systems of computers, video recording systems, software, and other sensor driven systems
• Familiar with a variety of the concepts, practices, and procedures used in visual effects and film production
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills
• Familiarity with realtime technology and virtual production experience preferred
• On-set experience a plus
