*** News is seeking an Executive Editor to oversee our Asia editing hub, a group of senior editors who helm major breaking news and enterprise stories across all our platforms.
You'll manage the hub, edit stories, help set newsroom priorities for enterprise and collaborate with teams throughout the newsroom. You'll be expected to elevate our most important stories and help guide coverage across multiple beats. Ideally, you will have experience working in multiple levels of the newsroom from reporter to senior editor, with previous management and coordination experience.
We'll trust you to:
- Lead a team of editors to deliver accurate, smart and readable stories across a broad range of coverage areas under tight deadlines
- Assign and edit stories, as well as plan and assign story coverage
- React quickly to unexpected stories and help break news
- Contribute to a range of platforms and formats, including audio and video
- Collaborate with numerous *** teams in Asia and around the world
You'll need to have:
- A minimum of 10 recent years of experience as a newsroom Editor
- Experience in a real-time news environment
- Experience in a position directly managing personnel
- Experience in covering areas including Government, Economics, Finance & Markets, Technology and Global Business in Asia
- Fluency in both spoken and written English
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, ability to work steadily and calmly under pressure
- A collaborative spirit and the commitment to innovate and experiment
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
- Bachelor's degree or degree-equivalent qualifications
