Job Summary/Description:
This is an entry-level position that will introduce you to the broadcast television industry and provide you with the skills necessary to design, maintain, and repair the technology and systems we use to distribute content across multiple platforms. An Assistant Broadcast/IT Engineer-Camera Operator is surrounded by an experienced team of professionals, and equipped with the tools and training necessary to succeed in a rapidly evolving *** environment. You will also get to experience the magic of show business, assisting with the production of live television as a videographer, camera operator, and drone pilot. Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Assist **** Engineering department in the maintenance of News4 television facilities and equipment, including on-air broadcasting systems.
- Provide support for News4 through routine camera maintenance, technical training for journalists, and inventory control of electronic newsgathering (ENG) equipment.
- Use computer systems to document work and maintenance.
- Obtain an FAA drone operator's license within 90 days of employment.
- Assist with the production of live news as a videographer, camera operator, and drone pilot.
- Facilitate maintenance of the news vehicle fleet.
- Routine building maintenance.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- This is an entry-level position.
- Professional, with high self-motivation for providing support and serving others.
- Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure on multiple tasks based on station needs.
- Team player with good interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written and advanced computer literacy.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs, with occasional work on ladders.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in good standing.
- Available to provide periodic on-call support as part of an Engineering team rotation.
- Preference will be given to candidates with technical experience with live production, facility maintenance, vehicle maintenance, video production and/or drone operation.
