First Assistant Director needed for a narrative short film in Los Angeles from award-winning filmmaker Angad Aulakh, alum of Ryan Murphy's HALF Initiative accelator for diverse filmmakers. Angad's prior short films, RESURREKTOr and THE ATOMIC DREAM, received Oscar and BAFTA Qualification, both recently finished their respective festival tours, including SCAD Savannah Film Festival, NY Shorts, LA Shorts, playing over a combined 70 film festivals, garnering over 30 festival awards, 40 nominations, and receiving widespread critical acclaim. This upcoming project is very small in scope, and is an original and elevated sci-fi/horror story.
JOB DETAILS:
Looking for a collaborative, resourceful, and self-starting individual who is comfortable working with an equally efficient and focused skeleton crew. We're looking forward to a successful, safe and fun shoot in a collaborative and ego-free environment! This daytime shoot is two days, Aug 16+17 in the LA area. Most scenes include only one actor.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:
Angad Aulakh is an award-winning filmmaker, whose most recent, Oscar-, BAFTA- and Canadian Screen-qualified short films, THE ATOMIC DREAM and RESURREKTOR, have been the Official Selection at festivals around the world, including most recently at SCAD Savannah Film Festival, NY Shorts, LA Shorts, Short Encounters, and winner of a combined 70 film festivals, garnering over 30 festival awards, 40 nominations, and receiving widespread critical acclaim. Angad's previous feature film was a New York Film Critics Series (NYFCS) Pick by Peter Travers (Rolling Stone) and he was subsequently chosen as a Director Mentee for Ryan Murphy Television's Half Initiative for diverse filmmakers in Film/TV. The director is an alum of NYU's Tisch.
