PLI is searching for a multimedia professional to fill the role of Remote Producer & Streaming Technician (responsibilities and qualifications are described below). SUMMARY
Remote Producer & Streaming Technician is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of PLI’s offsite events by working closely with the Programs and Conference departments to coordinate equipment rental and procure the crew for the event. This involves travel to various locations such as New York, Washington DC, Chicago & possibly Los Angeles. This comprises approximately 30% of your time each year, the rest of the year will require onsite presence in our NYC office, on a hybrid schedule.
Remote Producer & Streaming Technician will be responsible for setting up remote webcasts and working with the venue’s production crew to execute technically challenging events that could include both remote panelists and onsite presenters (also known as hybrid events).
This Remote Producer & Streaming Technician will also work closely (when not overseeing remote productions) with PLI’s Streaming Engineer and be part of the PLI Multimedia department that will assist in live streaming/recording, and QA of the stream with various monitoring toolsets to confirm integrity of signal to the end client.
This position reports to the Associate Director, Multimedia Services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Remote Programs and Webcasts
- Coordinates & collaborates with Programs, Conference, and technical departments to ensure that the proper A/V equipment is being requested for offsite programs and remote webcasts.
- Manages Third party vendors, evaluating service and fiscal value creating clear documentation of each event.
- Applies broad knowledge of video production, event and presentation technology, audio-visual products, and digital media techniques to successfully stream and record offsite productions and hybrid meetings
- Understands and operates a variety of production based technical equipment for live stream events following established streaming protocols.
- Deliver the appropriate formatted materials to the Edit & Publish team within Multimedia for PLI On Demand Website & Library.
- Recommend creative solutions to create a unified, real-time presentation for onsite and virtual audiences.
- Troubleshoot technical & operational problems before, during, and after events when required.
- Understands how to leverage technical support personnel for prompt resolution.
- QA analysis on all PLI program stream signals to end client.
- Provides support for PLI’s streaming technology, working alongside PLI’s Streaming Engineer.
Quality of Experience Issues Resolution
- Review Salesforce evaluations and Helpdesk tickets and research issues reported by Customers.
- Find and fix problems affecting the quality of the recorded products.
- Follow up with appropriate person or department and communicate actions taken on reported issues.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- A college degree and/or 4-7 years solid experience with practices and procedures related to audio/video production, presentation technology and equipment.
- An ability to operate and maintain audio/video equipment, read and interpret technical information and understand how to effectively use test equipment.
- Must be able to consistently follow-up and communicate progress on assigned tasks to management and other departments as necessary.
- Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft, MacOS and iOS operating systems
- Ability to use a variety of software applications such as Salesforce and Jira
- Familiar with all phases of video production and streaming including lighting, camera operation and sound recording.
