*** News and Stations is seeking a talented, creative, and versatile Software Engineer to join our Group Creative team, providing services to our *** owned and operated station group across 17 markets. The decentralized Group Creative team brings strategic planning and guidance to our entire group, delivering best-in-class creative and design to be executed within each local market. As a Group Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining new and current web-based productivity tools to empower personnel across our station group, expanding the capabilities of our Chyron graphics templates to bring creative vision to life, assisting designers in scripting for motion graphics templates, assist with the development of AR/VR workflows, coordinate with engineering teams at our stations to ensure efficient roll-out, implementation, and support of control room and station graphics and data workflows.
This position is hybrid and based in Baltimore with a portion of your responsibilities devoted to collaboration and consulting with WJZ as needed on various internal systems and infrastructure projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administrate and improve existing web-based graphics support systems.
- Develop new web-based tools to increase the efficiency of news graphics workflows across the group.
- Collaborate with Chyron Specialists to increase the capabilities of our templates.
- Liaison to Chyron for News Ticker integrations.
- Coordinate with all stations on engineering tasks related to control room graphics workflows.
- Liaison with our master control hub when working with their Vertigo graphics systems and assist with the support of our related graphics templates.
- Collaborate with and advise WJZ personnel on engineering and infrastructure projects as needed.
- Coordinate BTI systems integration with Chyron at WJZ.
- Assist in the development of group-level AR/VR workflows.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 + years of professional broadcast experience
- 2+ Years of practical experience coding web-based applications or equivalent.
- Experience with broadcast network systems
- Experience with Figma, Adobe After Effects, Chyron, Unreal Engine, and non-linear video editing systems is a plus.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to fast-paced work situations.
- Professional, communicative, highly self-motivated, and detail-oriented.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $90,000.00 - 120,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
