Job DescriptionOperations and Technology is a global organization that provides enterprise technology, operations, engineering, and facilities management services to *** Universal's businesses and offices in the Tri-State area, London, Los Angeles and Miami. This is inclusive of the company's owned studio and post-production operations servicing television and film, including the network operating centers in Denver, New York, and New Jersey. In addition, global security and the global real estate portfolio (including the management and development of the Universal *** property in Los Angeles) sit within the organization.
Within Operations & Technology, The Rockefeller Center Technical Operations group is responsible for supporting an array of television and production services across *** Universal, from running day-to-day Entertainment & News production operations, to long-term strategy development and capital planning. The team partners with businesses across *** U to drive production, manage varying technology and operational initiatives to help define, meet, and maintain business goals with our partners.
As a member of the Studio Production Planning Team, you will support and contribute to staffing plans and schedule multiple set locations, control rooms, and crew members within a fast-paced, 24/7 environment for *** *** , NY and *** , Englewood Cliffs, NJ. While focused on key front-line scheduling functions and quality of service, you will be embedded within a cross-functional team and help bring clarity to a complex workforce through experiences, measurement, and reporting. You will bring ideas and proposed solutions for identified workflow gaps to develop, improve, regulate, and maintain efficient processes. Your primary work location will be *** *** at 30 Rock.
Responsibilities - Partner with department managers to plan, prepare and provide the schedules of TV production crew and studio facilities, solving for logistical, budgetary, technical, and human dependencies
- Schedule crew members, studio resources, input payroll, onboard freelancers, and bill clients
- Help crew members navigate their schedules, leaving them all with a sense of care and confidence
- Collaborate with technical and production management, show Directors, Producers and to make choices for the effective use of required resources during simultaneous show productions
- Regularly fulfill additional production scheduling requirements beyond planned programming (breaking news, employee absences, studio maintenance, technical testing, added show tapings, live shows and special events etc.)
- Request, confirm and log employee shift and location changes
- Coordinate crew member overnight stay bookings with hotel partners to maintain business continuity for increased production volume, special events, and inclement weather
- Use quality control methods to ensure accuracy and efficiency of scheduled resources
- Track, measure and report daily progress of scheduling fulfillment and team goals for completion
- Collect, prepare and analyze resource usage data to answer questions with metrics, creating clearer visibility and insights of a large production operations workforce
- Facilitate the onboarding experience and orientation of newly hired freelance crew members
- Answer crew member questions regarding benefits, payroll and training
- Coordinate with scheduling system product and IT teams for change requests and outage support
- Contribute and support initiatives to improve production scheduling and technical operations workflow aligned with business goals
- Prioritize responsibilities of im *** te needs versus longer term planning and projects
Qualifications Basic Qualifications - Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and databases
- Proven computer skills to quickly adapt to specialty applications, forms, file systems and tools
- Television production related Internship(s) and/or work experience
- College degree in area related to responsibilities described or equivalent experience
Additional Job Requirements - Must be willing to work in the New York City office
- Must be willing to in the Englewood Cliffs, NJ office
- Must be available for all shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
- Must be willing to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift with little or no notice
- Must be willing to be "on-call" for breaking news and im *** te needs

Salary Range: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
