The director will work with producers, graphic artists and technical build and execute the day's rundown. The ability to read into a segment, provide guidance on graphics as well as blocking each segment to add pacing and interest is a must. The director will attend editorial meetings and pitch ideas on how to complete segments beyond the morning hours the show is on the air. The person chosen will be seen as a full-fledged member of the senior editorial team.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal teams to determine all technical production requirements.
- Attend post-production meetings as needed and complete post-production reports
Qualifications
- Must have 5+ years of directing experience at cable or network level is preferred.
- Knowledge of ELC automation a plus.
- Candidate must be able to demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with software, technology, and production equipment required to support all forms of video services.
- Applicants should possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to devise solutions.
- Strong attention to detail, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
- Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
- Excellent verbal communication, problem solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to delegate effectively.

This is a full-time staff position. The position requires DGA union status.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $300,000.00 - 400,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
