Summary:
*** 's Content Accounting team is seeking a Financial Accounting Analyst (FAA). As an FAA at *** , you will report to the Senior Manager, Content-Accounting, with direct exposure to the Director of Content Accounting and Direct-to-Consumer Controller. The right person for this role will be pro-active, self-directed, and sets a high bar for their work product. Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of month- and quarter-end close journal entries and support work paper reconciliations
- Review content licensing/production agreements to determine appropriate application of accounting policies
- Collaborate with other *** original team members to input contractual terms into the *** morph system and brainstorm efficiencies
- Understand and utilize appropriate methodologies as it relates to content cost capitalization, amortization and impairment of a diverse portfolio of original content
- Assist with production payment process
- Provide support for internal and external audits, including preparing and/or reviewing content-related audit schedules
- Prepare required tax schedules related to *** 's original content portfolio
- Support internal audit team for production audits of *** original productions
- Prepare participation statements and tracker. Collaborate with internal participations team to ensure proper reporting and payment
- Ensure the maintenance of process documentation, including the implementation of key Sarbanes-Oxley controls surrounding originals content
- Work collaboratively with the Content FP&A/CP&A, Production, Content Partner Management, Legal, and Business Affairs teams to obtain appropriate and timely data to support accounting records
- Support ad-hoc projects when necessary
Basic Qualifications:
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft business suite, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proper accounting experience of the *** and entertainment industry, with knowledge specific to ASC 920 and ASC 926
- Experience with cloud-based or ERP financial software such as SAP, *** Morph, Adaptive Insights, and/or other business tools (e.g. Tableau, MicroStrategy, Alteryx, etc.)
Education:
- BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, and/or similar discipline with analytical bias
The hiring range for this position in California is $76,800.00 to $93,800.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
