We have a great opportunity for you! *** Group is looking for a dynamic individual to be part of the Sinclair team as a Financial Analyst. This person will work in our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) department.
Responsibilities include:
- Use planning software to assist FP&A team with annual budget and quarterly forecast process
- Prepare budget and forecast variance analysis for assigned departments
- Review actual performance to budget and/or forecast for benchmark reporting and research outliers
- Review weekly revenue forecasts for reasonableness and distribute weekly revenue progress reports to senior leadership
- Report on quarterly broadcast sales performance - and highlight observations for senior operations staff
- Assist with preparation of agendas and presentations and compile detailed list of follow-ups for the quarterly operations meetings with broadcast operations managers and senior leadership
- Perform detailed analysis for proposed new initiatives
- Update and communicate quarterly goals and achievement to goal for incentive compensation participants
- Assist FP&A Manager with compensation planning and bonus plans on a station/regional/corporate level
- Assist FP&A Analyst with quarterly revenue reporting
- Compile monthly and annual data for submitting to broadcast industry association surveys
- Assist FP&A team with onboarding newly acquired TV stations and business units, as needed
- Utilize system resources (Cognos Business Intelligence and IBM TM1 Planning Software) for training and troubleshooting
- Trend analysis and adhoc reports as requested
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail
- Proven analytical and proactive problem-solving skills a must
- Working knowledge of financial statement analysis
- Experience working in financial software systems (Oracle or TM1) preferred
- Experience with compensation and bonus payouts a plus
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, professional environment
- At least 3-5 years of experience
