Set Dresser
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Set Dresser to join our production team for a TV pilot filming for 2 weeks in the Chicago area. Filming is scheduled between the end of August through early September. The set dresser will be needed for 11, 12-hour days of filming
The Set Dresser will be responsible for selecting, arranging, and setting up all objects and elements on the film set to ensure the visual appearance aligns with the director's vision. This role involves collaborating closely with the set designer and other production staff.
Responsibilities:
- Select and arrange set dressing items such as furniture, pictures, and other props.
- Ensure all set elements are properly placed and aesthetically pleasing before filming begins.
- Collaborate with the set designer, art director, and other team members to achieve the desired look and feel of the set.
- Transport and position set pieces, props, and furniture as required.
- Conduct thorough research to source appropriate props and set pieces that fit the period and style of the production.
- Maintain the set’s appearance throughout the filming process, making necessary adjustments.
- Assist with the breakdown and storage of set pieces after production wraps.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Set Dresser or similar role in film production.
- Strong artistic eye and creativity with attention to detail.
- Excellent research skills and knowledge of prop houses.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Physical stamina to handle and transport set pieces.
- Must be able to carry heavy objects.
- Knowledge of set design and decoration techniques.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the production schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree, certification, or experience in set design, art direction, or a related field.
