**** YOU'LL DO: - Grow a team of energetic news producers to excel beyond the basics, to leverage the best pictures and sound, develop new content that goes in-depth on local issues, and identify important local live opportunities that deliver a dynamic and compelling experience for our viewers in the morning daypart.
- Coach reporter-MMJs in fact-checking and story-telling techniques for the morning's major stories, as well as identifying best opportunities for video, sound, and teases.
- Natural radar for detail, ensuring everything from copy and director commands, to spelling, to graphics and supers, are all accurate and on-brand.
- Work with producers, editors, and graphics artists to explore new ways to tell stories via new graphics, using the studio in new ways, or delivering a new newscast format.
- Use "Big-Picture" thinking to envision and execute the same story in compelling ways across TV, digital, social, and OTT platforms.
- Creatively and consistently apply **** and *** brand elements in every newscast.
- Embrace opportunities to support the team by producing daily newscasts as needed, as well as special reports on TV and OTT platforms.
- Work closely with news managers to aggressively execute unique market deliverables that help propel station to success.
- Help news managers protect a productive, inclusive, and competitive newsroom atmosphere that puts the needs of the team first, while supporting all members individually, celebrating successes, and working together to grow.
- Partner with a fellow EP to monitor producer schedules and complete performance reviews aimed at proactively growing the skill sets of your team.
**** YOU'LL NEED:- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication or related field preferred.
- 5 years journalism experience; 3 years previous new producing experience preferred.
- The chops of an expert journalist who can also produce the news in a conversational and trustworthy manner.
- The ability to accommodate flexible work hours depending on the needs of our market and your newsroom teammates.
**** YOU'LL BRING:- Dependable news judgement and extensive knowledge of the "art" of producing, to include a sense of pace, storytelling, writing style and tone, and experience in coaching on-air talent.
