Overview and Responsibilities: *** New York, the #1 station in the portfolio of *** owned television stations, is seeking a creative, driven, and collaborative journalist to join our team of investigators! The ideal candidate will put their creative, visual stamp on investigative reporting by shooting, editing, and helping produce content for all platforms!
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Shoot and edit video, photographs, and other visuals to build investigative content of all lengths and formats.
- Help ideate, research and create content for newscasts, specials, streams and websites
- Assist with vetting tips and story ideas to identify and prioritize original, timely and topical content with broad value to the audience.
- Improve newsgathering techniques to acquire information and story elements.
- Develop relationships, cultivate sources, strategically land interviews, navigate open records laws, and use computer-assisted reporting techniques.
- Work closely with management, producers and legal counsel to craft ethical, fair, and accurate content that is supported by detailed documentation.
- Carefully maintain all company-issued technology and equipment and initiate repairs with urgency.
- Shoot and edit from various locations as needed.
- Must be willing to work an u *** edictable schedule to cover breaking news or meet deadlines.
- Thrives on meeting tight deadlines and dynamic environments.
Basic Qualifications: - Must provide reel demonstrating expert videography, photography and editing skills.
- At least 5 years of experience as an investigative photographer or similar position in a medium to large market.
- Proven track record of crafting specialty/investigative content.
- Proven advanced technical troubleshooting skills.
- Must be physically able to carry, shoulder and shoot with a broadcast ENG camera (25 lbs. or more) as well as carry necessary equipment (tripod, lights, microphones, etc.).
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Advanced skills editing with Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Proficiency in graphic design and video effects using software like the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Familiarity with file-based video transfer software and bonded cellular technology, such as LiveU.
Additional Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field is strongly preferred.

Hiring Salary Range: $120000.0 - 145000.0.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
