Job DescriptionTeam Overview Work with a highly motivated team of individuals who are responsible for the fulfillment of *** content to *** Universal's distribution outlets, including its cable networks, owned television stations and online destinations. A QC Technician must perform quality control of content for *** U Studio distribution using several technical processes & technologies including, but not limited to, Audio/Video QC, subtitle QC, audio language recognition, order prioritization, cross team communication and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities • Perform quality control of all digital *** for Studio Fulfillment distribution.
• QC all content for distribution - Ensure technical specifications for all encoded and transcoded files including foreign languages with the expectation of making zero errors or defects.
• QC and segmentation off all content being stored into *** U's serving library.
• Learn and perform all *** prep processes in the *** Operations Center & any additional processes that are created in the future.
• Provide delivery support of digital *** to internal departments, studio needs and external partnerships
• Troubleshoot basic problems and issues in the *** prep workflow following escalation procedure and maintaining client communication.
• Occasionally provide documentation regarding workflow Standard Operating Procedures.
• Additional duties as needed and assigned by Supervisor(s).
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:- A high school diploma and relevant certification or associate degree in *** or Communications, or equivalent professional experiencein a production, postproduction, broadcast, or communications environment
- A solid understanding of television production, broadcast operations, and/or news/sports/entertainment technical production requirements.
Additional Requirements:- 2+ years of experience in a job or school related activity using computers and software applications including MS outlook, MS Word, & MS Excel.
- Knowledge of various *** formats/VTRs (Digi *** a, HDcam, XDcam), file types (QT, WMV, MXF, DNX, DV, etc) and video standards (NTSC, PAL)
- Basic understanding of digital video/audio including compression codecs, file systems, file transfer applications and Content Distribution
- Must be willing to work Centennial, CO.
- Must have unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States.
- Must have flexibility with work schedule; must be able to work late hours, weekends, holidays and occasional special events when needed for this 24/7 operation
- Must be willing and able to view all content including that considered to be mature in nature, repetitive, and potentially controversial
Desired Characteristics:- Bachelors' or 2 year degree in Communications or ***
- Experience in international broadcast operations or *** especially in a quality control capacity.

- Experience in a fast paced, quick turn and/or live broadcast environment.
- Fluency or inter *** te understanding of other languages
- Understanding of international files standards & frame rates
- 2+ years of experience in the multi-channel broadcast facility doing content-prep and quality-control work
- Professional experience with SD & HD tape decks and/or file formats and specifications.
- Inter *** te understanding of audio and video signal flow (waveform monitors, vector scopes, patch bay and routing systems)
- Prior experience using *** Asset Management (MAM) and centralized workflow software.
- The ability to maintain composure and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to adapt to new and changing workflows and software implementations
- An acute attention to detail and a knack for cross-referencing and identifying inconsistencies,coupled with the ability to anticipate and report potential issues and concerns proactively.
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
