Be Part of the Story at *** in the Project Hire Associate Merchandising Manager role. This exciting role will act as the strategist and producer of the product line for the *** Cruise Line categories where we work with sourcing, planning, creative and product design to ensure the highest quality, consumer focused, trend right product lines that build brand equity and meet financial targets.
This role reports to the Merchandising Manager.
This is a 12-Month Project Hire position without any guarantee of permanent placement.
What You Will Do:
- Drive the daily implementation of the *** Cruise Line merchandise product strategy along with the Merchandise Manager or Senior Manager for *** Cruise Line
- Assist in the development of a consumer-focused product strategy that is commercially viable and delivers a specific targeted look and feel for brand/ category
- Relentlessly monitor the global competitive landscape and consumer zeitgeist to gain opportunity
- Consolidate all product needs for *** Cruise Line to develop one product brief to design ensuring needs of all businesses are met
- Find commonality in consumer, customer, and market trends to minimize excess / cannibalization; identify areas to reduce complexity and increase efficiency while championing our diversity and inclusion goals through the right product and personal growth
- Establish perspective on what's working and why to consistently improve the product line
- Partner with Site partners, Events creators, and Marketing teams to bring our content and Intellectual Property to life accurately and with a consistent brand point of view
- Partner with Product Design and Sourcing to deliver seasonal product lines that meet business objectives including sustainability goals
- Partner with cross-functional team by showing up as compelling, dynamic, and knowledgeable in all stages of go to market process and partner interactions where the product is discussed
- Assist in building compelling stories to sell in and create solutions to drive the brand vision and grow sales
- Collaborate with Product Design on assortments where they are leading the design and gain their feedback/ad *** on assortments where you are working directly with suppliers
- Approve samples for fit, fabrication, art placement, and quality ensuring the desired aesthetic is achieved
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- 2+ years of progressive experience in Product Merchandising,
- Experience in building a product line for a category or categories of business
- Proven ability to capitalize on market trends and consumer zeitgeist to improve value creation throughout the trend cycle
- Proven track record to build, leverage and scale innovation
- Proven ability to be a brand steward and maintain brand and product integrity
- Strategic problem solver with the ability to drive execution against a financial plan
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to i *** uence a diverse audience including experience working with external partners and business owners to bring product and assortments to the market
- Successful experience working, and thriving, in a highly matrixed company structure
- Collaborative and effective communicator
- Strong Teammate - The ability to build & foster collaborative partnerships across functions & departments
