- Job Requirements: This is a remote job.
We are looking for an entry to mid-level Video Editor to prepare projects for our senior editors. This includes pulling selects, syncing footage, generating timelines, etc. For the right candidate who has a desire to create content, there will be an opportunity to cut BTS style social media videos.
**NOTE: The content we are currently creating is filmed "Reality Style at the highest quality; however the target demo viewing the content is only interested in shorter form, fast-paced consumption. Your edits need to be quick, engaging, entertaining, and target demo specific.
We are only interested in applicants with 1-3 years of experience in
this specific role or a similar role in production.
Those with a degree and other relevant work experience will have an
advantage over other candidates
Applicants must be located in the Continental U.S.
This is a work-from-home position and there will be no expectations of
travel.
Applicants must be familiar with Adobe Premiere and Teams
specifically. You will be required to communicate effectively with our
Director of Post Production and other post production staff.
All video editors are expected to log their hours and will need to
employ flexible work hours to meet some of our tight deadlines.
We cannot stress how important it is that our Video Editors be
excellent problem solvers. You must be capable of keeping your cool
under the considerable pressures of production, always de-escalating
problematic situations and solving any issues that may occur
You will supply your own, capable and relevant hardware. *We supply Adobe Premiere through Teams.
DUTIES
* Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
* Take a brief to grasp production team’s needs and specifications
* Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list
based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity
* Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
* Sort footage “selects”, create rough and final cuts
* Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
* Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process
* Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and
industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
* Most importantly, your duties may be altered based on the evolving
demands of any production and we will need you to adapt to any changes
that occur.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
You must be highly organized. Good Video Editors are storytellers, listeners,
and problem solvers all in one. They have a great eye for quality and
attention to detail.
* Proven work experience
* Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages
(e.g. Premiere)
* Our primary software is ADOBE PREMIERE (TEAMS)
* Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
* Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity
* Creative mind and storytelling skills
* It is an advantage to possess superior people skills, and knowledge in all
aspects of film production.
WORKING CONDITIONS
As a video editor for Creative Dynamic you will be working remotely/from
home. You will be working directly under our Director of Post Production.
Important note: Creative Dynamic is constantly producing new content and
expanding to meet demand. We are in need of professional, dependable and
capable Video Editors. If this contract is executed at the highest level and
perfectly meets our needs, we will be happy to discuss making you a
permanent hire.
