Job Description Located in Birmingham, Alabama, the Dotdash *** Food *** is a state-of-the-art facility featuring 28 test kitchens, 13 photo *** , a prop and styling studio, an outdoor grill station and an expansive showcase kitchen and tasting room for demonstrations and events. Powered by a talented team of test kitchen professionals, stylists, and photographers, the *** Food *** is the country's premier creative hub, producing thousands of world class recipes, images, and related content annually for Dotdash *** 's print, digital, and social platforms.
The Food Styling Assistant will assist the food stylists with grocery shopping, recipe prep, and organization of kitchens and workspaces.
Essential Job Functions60% Assist stylists. Help stylists prepare for upcoming shoots by ensuring that workstations are equipped with ingredients in advance of recipe preparation. Follow your food stylist's lead to prepare recipes for photography.
35% Grocery shop. Work with the food styling assistants to shop and stock the pantries and cold-storage areas in the kitchen.
5% File expenses. Compile expense reports for accounting purposes.
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered. Education:
B.S. or B.A., a culinary degree, or professional kitchen experience.
Experience:
Food styling assisting experience preferred.
