SUMMARY
Under general supervision, monitors overall computer production and ensures data processing is competed in a timely manner and according to established departmental standards. Performs backup and recovery functions, solves commonly or more complex computer operations problems, or refers to higher-level staff. Acts as the Help Desk, providing first level technical support and problem management for internal/external customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Maintains confidentiality of CDS Global and its clients' proprietary information.
• Performs day-to-day monitoring of CDS Global's computer system(s).
• Monitors for system errors.
• Monitors system utilization and performance.
• Enters commands to correct errors.
• Escalates program errors or failures as defined in procedures.
• Submits daily or weekly back-ups.
• Completes database forms documenting completion of backups and tape volsers.
• Documents problems and actions by completing daily turnover log(s).
• Answers calls and performs in a Help Desk capacity during and/or after business hours.
• Applies inter *** te problem-solving techniques to troubleshoot or resolve issues.
• Notifies system support, management, and/or vendor(s) of malfunctioning hardware or software.
• Makes changes and/or additions to existing programs according to client requests, including restoring files.
• Works with outside departments for job handling instructions or changes in scheduling.
• Assists programmers or technical support in testing of new programs.
• Interacts in cooperative and professional manager with employees, clients, and vendors in a team-oriented environment.
• Organizes tasks and resources to complete work and meet deadlines according to established departmental procedures.
• Continually learns and applies new information in dynamic, fast-paced technical environment.
• Adheres to CDS Global attendance policies; reports to work station as directed; works extended, holiday, or weekend hours as required.
• Follows all CDS Global ergonomic and safety policies.
(The above duties may be performed anywhere from 0 100% of the workday.)

EDUCATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION, S****S AND LICENSING
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One or more years of years of technical training and/or experience.
• One or more years of computer operations experience; iSeries experience preferred.
• Experience analyzing, identifying and resolving technical situations and determining most effective or efficient actions.
• Demonstrated experience comparing data and editing information on a PC.
• Simple math skills.
• Demonstrated experience working in changing environment and remaining productive.
• Inter *** te PC knowledge and skills. Word processing and spreadsheet experience preferred.

This is a 3rd shift remote position in the state of Iowa with a 4-day work schedule. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 9:15pm-7:15am.
Starting Base Wage is $16.90 per hour (2nd & 3rd shift receive 10% shift pay or $18.59 per hour).
