Job Summary/Description:
****/****, the dominant #1 station in Wilmington, NC, is searching for our next Morning Executive Producer. The ideal candidate would have the confidence to help in the training and growth of producers, as well as bringing dynamic, aggressively produced, showcased television to life in the control room. Working hours and schedule may vary and duties will include producing newscasts as needed.
Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Coach the Carolina in the Morning producers, focus on writing, story treatment and content engagement
• Copy edit stories produced in newscasts
• Develop on-air engagement segments, using available and emerging technology
• Collaborate with regional and corporate news partners
• Monitor live news sources to push happening now content on broadcast, digital and social streams
• Impact and i *** uence newsroom by making daily decisions consistent with newsroom leadership
• Help recruit and train new newscast producers
Qualifications/Requirements:
• 2 to 3 years of newsroom producing experience is preferred
• Track record of best practices, including solid broadcast writing, real-time management of live assets and development of showcased leads
• Solid understanding of journalistic ethics and libel laws
