Digital Content Producer to join our team. The Digital Content Producer generates original content for the stations' web pages as well as social *** platforms. This person would be responsible for tracking down and writing local stories including breaking news, sports and weather as well as breaking news push alerts. You would also be responsible for other tasks associated with the production of a newscast and website news stories, such as making phone calls and confirming facts.
Responsibilities include:
- Writing news, and edit and publish stories for the web and social ***
- Confirming stories and double checking content for accuracy, spelling and typos before posting
- Work closely with reporters for story development
- Help run the Content Center by updating to the daily planner
- Update stories and breaking news to insure the very latest content is on the web and social *** pages
- Posting videos to our web page
- Create and send push alerts for breaking news stories
- Monitor user comments on station sites for inappropriate content
- Setting up and monitoring live web stream of newscasts and other live news events
- Technical set up for school closings & alert systems
- Technical set up for election night web page
Requirements include:
- A college degree and experience in a television news department preferred
- Knowledge of broadcast journalism
- Knowledge of electronic graphics and newsroom computers
- Experience with web-content management systems
- Technical knowledge of web and social *** functions as well as strong editorial judgment
- The ability to work with others
- Creativity, people skills, and a positive, can-do attitude are needed
- Well informed of what's happening in the local, national and international news each day
- Strong news writing skills and understanding of current events
- Valid driver license and good driving record
- Must be able to lift 5-10 lbs
Hours: Must be available to work all shifts including evenings, early mornings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
