The recreation footage for True Caribbean Pirates was strong enough to be repurposed into a second series by History's in-house production team.

Directed and field produced two episodes of a travel channel series about the finer things in life. Conducted all interviews for the show. Filmed on site B-roll and coverage. Directed talent and models.

After executive turnover, I was asked by Gary Benz to write, produce, and supervise the two final shows. I did this while also seeing a pilot and a documentary (both for History) through post at the same time.

Wrote the scripts for the DVD Bonus features for the 2006 erelease interviews shot by the team at Sparkhill

• Created, wrote and supervised all aspects of the epic pirate documentary special True Caribbean Pirates for History. • Researched and field produced all interviews. • Directed multicamera recreations and battle scenes involving period weapons, stunts, pyro, historic landmarks, international locations, VFX, tall ships and a cast of up to 50 extras, reenactors and actors. • Solved numerous challenges involving insurance, logistics, safety, travel and schedule. • True Caribbean Pirates was a smash hit, with the premiere rating 3.1 in the US and up to 400% over average around the globe. • The footage we created was reused in the Lost Worlds series. • Behind the scenes feature produced by History is available on request.

Supervised research, located experts, wrote outlines and treatment and story guides, prepped and directed all interviews. Wrote the Final Draft shooting script for the specific locations, story points and production parameters that we could afford. Following filming, wrote the edit script and supervised the edit.

Created the pitch reel deck and proof of concept scout reel that obtained the greenlight from Discovery for this real-world archaeology/adventure/mystery series. Researched and approved stories and dig sites. Scouted and scripted episodes based in Belize, Mexico and Egypt. Wrote and developed show outlines for Peru (2), Egypt, England, Poland, Greece, Mongolia and Vietnam. Planned and supervised location shoot in Belize.

• Supervising Producer and 2nd unit director for this one hour special about the Son Tay Raid into North Vietnam. • Starred John McCain and John Milius as themselves.

Wrote the scripts and supervised the edits for the final two shows of the season.

Prepped recreations and dramatic scenes involving VFX, stunts, pyro, period locations and tall ships filmed both at sea and in port. Cast all actors and extras. Was fortunate to hire a fantastic team and crew crew. Production was shot on location in Puerto Rico as well as at San Pedro, Marina Del Rey, and the open ocean over just 8 days for a 100 page script; with three units working together and interchanging scenes and duties.

Created, wrote and supervised the motion control photography that brought the Wizard of Oz storybook to life for the Special Edition DVD release (award winner)

Direct dramatic recreations in which real ER doctors play themselves during high stakes or humorous real life medical dilemmas. Shot up to 9 stories a week and up to 30 pages a day.

Supervised creative under the supervision of Executive Producer Tammy Wood. Managed the research & writing teams, selected stories, prepared outlines, interviewed doctors, edited scripts, approved cast, supervised story and script.

Wrote the script for The Great Sub Rescue after being recommended to Steve Edelman by History Exec Producer Carl Lindahl. Also wrote the script for a second episode to help stamp the writing format for the series.

• Wrote, directed and produced all aspects of Shot From the Sky a two hour documentary for History about allied POW’s during World War II. • Directed recreations and interviews which were filmed in both the United States and France. • Special rated 2.6, won a Gold Worldmedal at NY Festivals and was nominated for Best Documentary Screenplay by the Writer’s Guild of America.

• History Executive Producer Carl Lindahl asked me to fix the ironically titled documentary special Broken Wings. • Analyzed project and wrote interlocking documentary and recreation scripts that solved the problems.

Field produced and then wrote and story produced two episodes on a freelance basis before returning to work at GRB.

Wrote, produced, directed and supervised all aspects of this recreation driven documentary, including shooting interviews in Japan that nobody had ever obtained before. The show rated 3.07 with zero publicity, airs every August 15th on History)

Conducted research, wrote initial creatiove outline, intervioewed Medal of Honopr recipients, scheduled project, budgeted project, planned and supervised recreations, directed second unit, supervised edit and post,, delivered show. One hour special, using intense interviews and large scale recreations to tell the stories of 5 Medal of Honor recipients. The special won a Cine Eagle and dozens of awards and it was selected by the Medal of Honor Society to play in their museum.

• Wrote and produced all aspects of War Dogs: America’s Forgotten Heroes. • Directed voice-over session with Martin Sheen. • Critically acclaimed special for Discovery rated 2.7 and called attention to the 50,000 lives saved during the Vietnam conflict by military working dogs. • Special led to a national war dog memorial and helped to change a Law in Congress.
