"We're Here" is an award-winning HBO docuseries about three prominent drag performers bringing their own brand of love, and a one-night drag show, to small towns all across the USA. On season 3, I worked with the producing team to secure locations, build schedules, and craft story. I conducted interviews with and managed the movements of talent, directed experienced crewmembers in the recording of scenes, and summarized the day's shooting in regular hot sheets. As "We're Here" was centered on bringing a drag show to some of the most conservative towns in America, producing required a delicate touch and nuanced understanding of, and respect for, a wide range of beliefs. This show walks its on-camera contributors through an emotionally turbulent and deeply personal process, which necessitated that producers quickly build mutual trust and with said contributors while clearly communicating the mission of the show. A live-show component meant wrangling large crowds, developing an efficient check-in/security process, and working with the Covid team to ensure compliance.
Summary
I am a documentarian who cut his teeth on fiction features, and a producer who came up through camera. This background gives me a wholistic perspective as a visual storyteller...one I'd be honored to bring to your project.

As a Camera Assistant, I was responsible for checking out, building, maintaining, and troubleshooting camera and lighting equipment in the field. This included work with Arri/Canon cameras, both anamorphic and zoom lenses, a MoVI gimbal rig, and interview lighting packages.

Shot both in the US and in Norway, "Sheltering Love" is an upcoming feature documentary about finding the humanity in, and proper care for, those suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. As a producer, I worked directly with the Creator/Executive Producer of the film to help develop concepts, structure the narrative, and craft interview questions. As this film deals with very personal health issues, it required utmost tact, understanding, and empathy. As a camera operator, I worked closely with the Director of Photography to capture multi-subject scene work, light interviews, and maintain the camera equipment.
