Nicholas Kraus

As one of the priciple DP’s, I spent much of 2019 embedded along the US—Mexico border following an undercover operative working against Mexican cartels, a sex trafficking victim blowing the whistle on an international religious organization, and an undocumented grandmother being deported by ICE agents despite decades of life inside the States.

I was deployed into the field as the principal cinematographer for several episodes, including the season premiere, which uncovered rampant abuse of students at a nationally acclaimed charter school in Louisiana.

In 2016, I joined a team of cinematographers hand-picked to set the look and tone of this ambitious nightly news program shot in a cinematic doc style. I DP’d over 100 unique pieces from the eroding arches of the Great Barrier Reef to the underbelly of the American opioid epidemic.
