Sound Check is a music series in which I created with a few of my peers. I wanted a series that was raw to the audience, while in a location that doesn't fit the space of music performance. But we all know, any good artist can grab your attention. So, this was a play on Artist performing on the street as the street is active and how would they hold up to the viewers?

This was a Live show at the Golddiggers location here in Los Angeles. I was lucky enough to be offered the job of shooting a soul artist showcase his latest music. In this very intimate setting, we set the lights the color we loved for him and made seamless looks throughout the performance with the crowd standing just before our cameras. I then wrote the editor a breakdown of how I saw the visual going. We made something special and I love that for us.

As the First AD, I was with the creative team prepping the shot list and schedule for the duration of our shoot. I was planning the day, lunch schedules, pickups, drop offs, managing media, keeping our different departments up to date with the scenes coming next, and motivating the crew throughout the day that they were doing great work. This was a short film with scenes at 2 different houses, a grocery store a full county over, and a driving scene with car mounts throughout Los Angeles. All of this along with making sure our call sheet was up to date at the same time as we had people switching in and out for different days.

On this shoot, again, I was the First AD, we had a few different things needed with a smaller crew. I shared a majority of the responsibilities with the Director. This consisted of finding locations, gear, crew, managing our budget, making our call sheet, casting our female talent, booking our hero vehicle, scheduling lunch, and providing a great atmosphere for our crew and talent throughout the shoot.

On this job I was the Assistant Camera in which I built the camera for our DP, set up the pull focus, created video village for client and Director, and kept all camera gear clean, organized, and well groomed for media managing after.

I wrote and Directed this short film and or music video. Having that connection with the artist for many years, he had reached out to me with his project and asked if I would come up with something unique and fun. I took the challenge, and we shot the entire thing in the course of 22 hours. It was planned beautifully, and the crew constructed for this particular job worked masterfully throughout the shoot.
