Script Assistant – BlueCat Screenplay Competition

With each of the 500+ scripts I’ve read, I aimed to provide helpful feedback for each submission and work with writers to bring their script to their full potential. My biggest success was offering notes to 2016 feature finalist Justin Piasecki’s script, Death of an Ortolan, which eventually won the prestigious Academy Nicholl Fellowship that same year.

Development Assistant – MJZ Productions

8/15 – 6/16

Film director Marcus Nispel (The Texas Chainsaw of Massacre, Friday the 13th, Conan the Barbarian) had a team of development assistants to help with his busy slate of commercial shoots and films in development. I worked closely with his head assistant to provide detailed notes on scripts sent to our office. My work with our creative team led to his assistant enlisting me in developing a horror/thriller, Slaughterhouse, which led to meetings with WWE Studios, Bron Studios, and Vincent Newman Productions for future project collaborations.

Script Assistant – Harbinger Pictures

1/14 – 10/15

Harbinger Pictures is committed to bring compelling and uplifting stories to life, such as their 2011 Oscar-winning film The Help. I provided detailed script breakdowns to producer Brunson Green to emphasize the stories best suited for the company’s goals. Some of my notable work included researching historical points for their upcoming film Seacole, as well as offering script breakdowns to the line producers of the 2017 drama Walking Out.
