Jessica Silva

Responsible for communicating with producers to shoot coverage for the edit. Ensured the team set up time lapse cameras, that our inventory was accounted for, media was sent to post. Responsible for operating A camera and leading B camera. Set up lighting for large spaces, and set up OTF stations with beautiful lighting and correct eye lines. I was hired as the DP for the second 1/2 of the first season.

I was responsible for working with my gaffer and camera team to achieve polished looks for digital content that provided instruction and insight into Ingenuity and Bright Starts products. We took extra care with our equipment given the age group of our talent, and I communicated directly with Leah Ruth, the senior manager of content for Kids II.

Managed a team of 3, we followed the lives of 4 best friends who are in and on the road to weight loss surgery. I was often put in sensitive situations, some of which were medically related, and I made sure to always treat every situation with respect and kindness. We set up a lot of Go Pro's and traveled to many different places to film, often not having a lot of control over lighting but making due with what we had to make it look good. I set up green screen interviews, and OTF stations. I operated A camera, and made sure we got sufficient coverage of scenes for post.

As the DP for this short film, my responsibilities included putting together a crew, securing equipment on a tight budget, and aiding in pre production by going on location scouts and putting together a shot list. I was also responsible for lighting and shooting this short with a two camera set up.
