It’s a gender equal, BIPOC only, human powered, feature length snowboard documentary. Taking a page out of the classic ski/snowboard film formula and doing a 180 when it comes to diversity and inclusivity. SOMOS, follows hard charging snowboarders from ethnically different backgrounds, who are assigned a riding partner to share their differences and achieve their goals of riding terrain of a lifetime in Alaska. The crew will be hosted by Chilean/Cuban snowboard mountaineer Rafael Pease, where he will be joining each team in their Alaskan journey. My job is to document, climb, snowboard and backup everything for the film while living on the glacier in Alaska for 26 days.

Drone operator for Sierra Avalanche Center shooting under Generikal. Shoot involved capturing footage of high, medium and low exposure terrain accessed via snowmobile to be used as training videos.

Daily DIT backups on location on a glacier in Alaska for 26 days. Backing up 2 RED cameras. 4 still cameras and 4 GoPros. Daily backups will be powered via generator and backing up to two 4 bay RAID systems simultaneously. Both raid systems are setup to a raid 5 for redundancy and transferred via Hedge checksum software. Total volume from the trip: 10.5TB.

Setup and safely secure camera operator in the bed of a pickup truck. I set a 4 point anchor system setup through a full body harness. The anchor system from operator to truck was on a sliding and quick adjustable system allowing the operator to move about the truck bed freely without the risk of falling out while moving. The anchor system was double backed up with Poly 400D ripstop material and 4 HotForge Screwgate carabiners which has the strength of 24.0 Kilonewtons or 5,395.41 Pounds-Force.
