My work history is in VFX. I had the great pleasure to work with a population of highly intelligent and frighteningly talented employees, while at Rhythm & Hues Studios, on films like the Oscar award winning film LIFE OF PI. I'm also a writer and a comic.

- Provide consulting services to the executive producer to support the production of a long-form (00:01:15) animated advertisement. (Pokémon) - Recruit freelance staff, including 3D animators, editors, compositors. - Develop and manage production timeline and scope of deliverables throughout the production process. - Reported directly to the Director of Digital Production, providing support as needed - Supported 5 Department Managers (who hired, fired, evaluated, coached and scheduled 500 digital artists over 10-12 disciplines across both Los Angeles and Vancouver office locations) - Tangentially supported International Production Management as needed. Attended late evening video conferences. - Helped hire and train the Vancouver Coordinator. - Worked gracefully in a 2-person (increased to 3 at some point) team. - Communicated effectively, was efficient, displayed organizational prowess, employed sophisticated interpersonal skills with a population of highly intelligent and frighteningly talented employees, was a positive role model for the employee population, and displayed a terrific sense of humor. - Technical knowledge and personal experience from previous Pipeline position helped at times to inform PM decisions in terms of artists' perspectives, workflow challenges, etc. - Tackled and improved the existing paradigm concerning the ever-changing, never ending artist seating assignments and hardware deployment challenges in Los Angeles studio. - Helped in day-to-day operations including, but not limited to: artist time sheet approvals; artist vacation and sabbatical requests and subsequent production approvals or lack thereof; clarifying, confirming or in other ways facilitating individual artist scheduling from project to project with the Managers; scheduling employee meetings with/for Managers; alerting Managers to their respective employee contract termination/renewal dates; helping set up and run single department parties/events; helping with Recruiting events, often in other locations (Culver City, CA; Vancouver, Canada); - Coordinating and helping run intermittent Apprentice Programs

- Worked closely with Digital Supervisor to oversee all aspects of VFX pipeline for the show - Designed, implemented, and maintained production-centric tools, workflows, and core libraries Perl - Facilitated cross departmental show meetings for supervisors, pipeline leads and team members, including compilation and presentation of agenda items - Contributed to weekly departmental and show centric video conferences with international studios - Solid understanding of software design methodologies. - Object-oriented software design experience. - Strong scripting language experience (eg. Perl). - Verbal, written and interpersonal skills. - Documentation skills. - UNIX skills. - Knowledge of relational database design and implementation. - Familiarity with computer graphics application software (Maya, Houdini, Nuke, etc). - Computer animation and/or visual effects industry experience.
