Project Manager

Staff Position — R. Rock Enterprises Details
9/14 – 4/15

Managed a writer and researched, wrote, and edited large highly sought after coffee table art book about the history of the 9:30 Club, the legendary nightclub in Washington, D.C. This project was a massive undertaking that involved communicating and collaborating with 9:30 Club family (employees, fans, musicians, community leaders, artists, and DC area locals) to tell the history of the club in a cool creative way. We researched archival photography and ephemera integral to telling the story, and looked through several personal collections (storage units even) to find flyers, photos, artwork, and other images to include in the book. I interviewed many people involved with cementing the club's reputation, including Dody Di Santo, Bill Warrell, Dave Grohl, Keanu Reeves, Ian MacKaye, Bob Forrest, Sarah McLachlan, Carrie Brownstein and others. The project was an amazing experience which will ultimately manifest in a great tribute to the D.C. music scene that started in 1979 and lives on today.
