Televisa *** Digital Local News team has an im *** te opening for a Multi *** Journalist for YouTube shorts. A Multi *** Journalist for YouTube will be responsible for generating story ideas and making and maintaining contacts with community leaders, government, legislators, and city officials to develop short reporting stories (59 seconds).
He/she presents YT reports clearly, concisely, and objectively. Must be able to generate enterprising stories and breaking news. Must be able to work alone with a video device, write and edit his/her story, and interact with the viewers throughout the *** channel.
ABOUT YOU:
You are excited about creating hard news video content for a Televisa *** YouTube Spanish audience. Being creative, a team player and be able to work alone and make innovative proposals.
YOUR DAY-DAY:
- Gather information, conduct interviews and report assigned stories daily.
- Present stories in a fair, accurate and unbiased manner.
- Generate and edit video, images and/or information.
- Develop and maintain a network of news sources providing access to exclusive local stories.
- Maintain strong familiarity with local, national, and international news and issues of the day.
- Communicate with the YT strategy team, news producers, assignment editors and managers regarding story development, progress in the field and/or breaking news stories.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a collaborative manner that works well with co-workers, supervisors, and the community at large.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Establish and maintain news contacts and relationships with the community that will translate into news stories.
- Maintain strong familiarity with local, national, and international news and issues of the day.
YOU HAVE:
- Candidate must be completely fluent in English/Spanish, with superior written/spoken Spanish language skills.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a video reporter.
- Proven skills for creating and editing content in a mobile device.
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field, or equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Proven record of accomplishment of strong writing, storytelling, and live reporting skills.
- Must be able to use newsroom computer systems/applications (hardware/software). Knowledge of iNews is a plus.
- Must be familiarized with YouTube workflow and metrics.
- Candidate must have functional to advanced knowledge in the use of video devices and premiere pro.
- Candidate must be able to make sound decisions while working under extreme deadlines and must have the ability to follow directions and incorporate constructive criticism into work results.
- Must have the ability and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to drive and have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
- Knowledge of video production and edition
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, type, edit, reach, and sit for up to eight (8) hours.
- Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
