The Programming Coordinator for Footage Licensing supports the Footage Licensing Business and Content Rights Management team on the day-to-day research, customer handling, content delivery, and rights communication of our content. This person must acquire great familiarity with the *** and *** Sports Archives, conduct quick and comprehensive searches for content, understand *** rights questions and legal contractual issues, and support the sales and outreach efforts of the Footage Licensing Manager related to revenue acquisition for these archival holdings. The Coordinator must be able to anticipate and respond to client needs, have a passion for research and client service, be able to familiarize oneself with a wide variety of current and historical sports events and figures, and doggedly communicate and coordinate to overcome internal and external obstacles to complete projects in a timely fashion.
Additionally, the Programming Coordinator supports the Content Rights Management with responding to *** and *** content rights inquiries, analyzing content usage, assisting rightsholder negotiations and rights clearance efforts, and communicating across all *** departments on topical rights issues.
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the Footage Manager and members of *** Programming & Legal Departments to address an array of clearance issues related to both Third-Party licensing and Internal *** and Intra- *** Productions (including TV programs, feature films, commercials, long form & short form documentary subjects, podcasts, digital features, etc.)
- Guide third parties through proper request submissions and clearance best practices.
- Support any external sales outreach efforts, such as the Department's website and any promotional opportunities as directed by the Footage Manager
- Research and analyze footage licensing opportunities, either by the request of the client, or as directed by the Footage Manager to prepare for future internal or external requests.
- Develop/curate collections with the *** / *** Sports library to aid in future sales.
- Arrange for the production and delivery of screener and master material to clients.
- Assist the Footage Manager with contract trafficking and invoicing/billing with Finance.
- Discuss with the Content Rights Management Team to identify and analyze risks associated with rights and licensed materials.
- Assist the Content Rights Management team as needed with major clearance efforts related to new platforms, large-scale content reviews, network exchange agreement analysis, intra- *** promotional requests, upcoming event advisories, or large-scale productions such as the ESPYs.
- Participate as a member of the Programming Department at large to contribute to the overall scheduling strategy for the company across platforms and networks, including related content on *** Deportes.
- Create presentations, internal documents, and assist in negotiation prep work as assigned.
- Proactively contribute innovative ideas to continue to grow our business.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong overall sports knowledge, with specific emphasis on 20th Century sports history.
- Proficient computer skills, with an emphasis on rights and content database tools such as Rightsline, Microstrategy, Business Objects, or Tableau, collaborative working tools such as Sharepoint and Smartsheet, plus Microsoft Office suite.
- General knowledge of the sports *** industry.
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in a professional work setting.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must be highly organized, efficient, self-motivated, exhibit excellent time management skills and able to work on multiple tasks at the same time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work experience in the sports *** industry, television programming and/or college athletics.
- General familiarity with reading and comprehending legal contracts.
- General familiarity with TV and digital audience measurement.
- General familiarity with *** and footage rights.
- Knowledge of NCS/CS system a plus.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in communications, journalism, business, sports management or a related field.
