The position will report to the Paralegal Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with all aspects of trademark registration matters in U.S. and foreign jurisdictions, including trademark prosecution, maintenance, renewals, co *** icts, chain-of-title, etc.
- Assist with all aspects of title, editorial, and trademark clearance, including perform searches, analyze search results, draft opinions for attorney review, etc.
- Liaise with outside counsel, etc.
- Assist with document production, including, researching, authenticating, gathering, and documenting trademark evidence, etc.
- Assist with drafting and preparing correspondence and legal documents for attorney review, etc.
- Assist with preparing, processing, and recording chain-of-title related documents, etc.
- Assist with trademark database maintenance, including data entry, docketing deadlines, etc.
- Assist with data, information and document management, and recordkeeping, etc.
- Prepare summaries and reports, etc., as needed.
- Assist with other IP-related projects, etc., as may be necessary from time to time.
Candidate should possess the following qualifications:
- At least one year of paralegal experience with an emphasis on trademark and clearance work.
- Knowledge of foreign and domestic trademark laws and requirements.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills, and excellent attention to details.
- Superior organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize workload, and strong follow-up and follow-through skills.
- The ability to handle a high volume of deadline-intensive work.
- Be a self-starter with an excellent work ethic and commitment to professionalism.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office software programs, Adobe software, trademark database software, billing software, document management software, online research skills including caselaw databases, etc.
- A willingness to learn and use new research materials and practice tools.
Education:
- BA/BS degree and/or relevant work experience
- ABA-approved Paralegal Certification
The hiring range for this position in California is $70,000.00-$93,800.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
