Kids & Family Digital *** is seeking a Graphic Designer with a particular background in developing graphic elements for YouTube. The designer will be responsible for creating a wide variety of graphics (ranging from but not limited to thumbnail designs, banner art, avatars, and end-screens) for a variety of *** brand channels across the YouTube platform and occasionally other digital platforms. The Graphic Designer will work closely with the Design & Audience Development team to identify YouTube standard processes while also experimenting with how to elevate our design using the latest trends of design and technology in the social/digital space. Expert knowledge of design, layout, and typography is key.
The ideal candidate is a creative and industrious expert in graphic design familiar with the YouTube landscape who has a proven track record of crafting engaging and polished assets for digital/social platforms. This candidate possesses a collaborative spirit and brings intention into all of their design choices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creates high quality thumbnail designs that align with YouTube's standard processes and the channel thumbnail strategy
- Be involved in all kickoff and internal calls and meetings, and participate and contribute in applicable brainstorm sessions with design strategy in mind
- Be responsible for the creative process regarding design content
- Possess a strong eye for typography and layout in design and be able to create a variety of different graphics from scratch.
- Experience in photo manipulation
- Illustration skills are a plus
- Collaborating well with motion designers (+ video editors)
- Should have experience in handling Key Art and photo compositing
- Must know how to set-up and build files for animation hand-off
- Speak to and provide feedback on motion/animation
- Be willing to experiment, learn and complete a wide range of design techniques
Basic Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience working in Digital *** for a content publisher or agency
- Demonstrated passion for youth-oriented *** , YouTube and the social video space
- Past experience crafting design assets for social/digital use
- Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with high proficiency in English copy
- Ability to multitask, problem solve and operate independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Possess an optimistic can-do mindset
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $85,000.00 - 100,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
