Job Description Seeking a talented, multifaceted Senior Producer to join Entertainment Weekly's dynamic video team. We are looking for a candidate with a proven ability to create content that resonates with an online audience.
The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller, an innovative self-starter with a passion for the creative process, and has the ability to execute projects successfully and efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Must be able to work with the Head of Video to ensure content is on schedule, on budget, and delivered to the requisite level of visual and editorial quality.
The Senior Producer will be responsible for helping to shape and execute the EW video slate by ideating and crafting compelling video content. They should be able to pitch creative ideas in a collaborative environment and see them through from concept to execution. This role requires strong producing and editing capabilities (Premiere required and After Effects strongly encouraged), and the flexibility to switch *** ween these two skills seamlessly.
This candidate will take ownership of multiple projects using their creative, detail-oriented production background. In addition to working with the video team, the ideal candidate will partner closely with EW's editorial leads and social team to make data informed production strategies and creative decisions for EW's various video platforms. Thus, it is important for this person to be social *** -savvy and understand how and why people view and share videos online.
You should be passionate about all things pop culture and have a familiarity of the celebrity space.
II. Essential Job FunctionsWeight %: Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results:PRODUCTION: 40%Producing digital videos from concept to delivery, coordinating shoots alongside the editorial and social teams (field, studio, and virtual shoots), overseeing a crew of freelancers on set, and assisting in the digital roll out of edits.
POST PRODUCTION: 40%Editing digital videos, overseeing internal and external edits from other editors, basic color correction and sound editing skills, basic motion design/editing of series graphics, and backing up/archiving projects.
15 %Meaningfully participating in creative brainstorms for new content and series, social *** campaigns, and sponsorship initiatives.
5 %Other duties as assigned by the Head of Video or management.
100%III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.Education:- Bachelor's degree required, in a related field preferred, but not mandatory. Related would be Film/TV, Journalism, Communication, Creative writing, etc.
- Experience:
- 5+ years in a production environment, with at least 3 of those years working as a producer/editor in a digital video role.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Strong knowledge of entertainment, pop culture, and the EW brand.
- Strong Adobe Premiere editing experience and basic After Effects knowledge is required.
- Must have a working knowledge of video gear and the ability to operate a camera when needed.
- Must have a love for digital video and an eye on trends in the industry.
- Must be able to communicate effectively - verbally, in writing, and in person.
- Ability to understand content analytics and implement findings into each creative product.
- Ability to make quick decisions without losing composure.
- Ability to professionally interact with high-level talent and their teams.
- Must be able to multitask and manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
- Must be flexible regarding work schedules and working on offsite locations when necessary.
- Must be proficient in Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
- Must be highly organized with excellent follow-through.
- Attention to detail and being a self-starter is a must.

Pay Range Salary: $84,000 - $105,000
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance.
