** This is a 6-month project-based position located in our 30 Hudson Yards office in New York, NY. **REQUIRED: Must be available to travel Friday, July 12- Friday, July 19th and Thursday, August 15th- Friday, August 23rd for event execution ( *** Grill Activations at the RNC + DNC)Your New Role... *** is seeking a Senior Manager to join the Brand Activation & Events team in New York. The Senior Manager is responsible for spearheading event activation, from ideation to flawless execution of logistics, ensuring a seamless event experience for the *** brand. The Senior Manager must be able to lead strategically, while also being hands-on in overseeing the day-to-day needs of event activation.
Your Role Accountabilities...This role will serve as the lead on project execution for all internal employee engagements, talent relations initiatives, and premium curation for the department and company. This role will also support executive leadership initiatives and external brand activations for *** 's linear and digital properties.
This role requires extensive organizational skills, a passion for the *** , the ability to manage multiple projects at once, creative thinking, a passion for innovation and industry trends, and to have a strong interest in event marketing.Candidates need to have a healthy interest in the news, digital *** and the journalism industry, an adaptability to adjust to a fast-paced cycle, along with familiarity with *** 's networks and platforms.
The Senior Manager is a seasoned event professional within the Brand Activation & Events team, working both autonomously and with direction as needed, with exceptional organizational skills and understanding of various types of events.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Act as primary event producer for all Internal Employee Initiatives while simultaneously developing and setting structure for new opportunities of engagement and development for our worldwide bureaus
- Support and execute External Activations and Executive Leadership events as assigned by the Senior Director, including tentpole programming for brand specifically within the 2024 political cycle
- Develop and grow talent relations initiatives and programs including creating and maintaining gifting databases, tracking milestones, and managing swag inventory
- Oversee companywide premium ordering, vendor relations, and swag inventory for department
- Manage vendor relationships to execute events and activations on time and within defined budgets.
- Communicate effectively with cross functional stakeholders including creative marketing, production, publicity, programming, social and digital.
- Strategize and implements cross divisional workflows and establishes timelines for several large scale, highly visible signature brand events.
- Provide comprehensive project recaps and performance reports for senior leadership team.
- Partner with finance to accurately manage departmental budgets, reconciling invoices and expense tracking
Qualifications & Experience... - 6-8 years of direct experience in event production and management
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Proven relationships with event design and production. Familiarity with conceiving and executing large scale events.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong initiative, self-motivated and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills including the ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
- Creativity is a must. Ability to activate brands in non-traditional ways.
- 30%-40% of time may involve travel. Must be available to travel and produce events on site as needed, including evenings and weekends.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of *** Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $113,890.00 - $211,510.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, *** Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
