Job Description

Working under the direction of the Senior Finance Manager and Senior Billing & Collections Manager, the Financial Coordinator is responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the monthly financial closings in accordance with US & local GAAP for Argentina as well as all financial operating and compliance activity in the country.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ownership of day-to-day accounting processes, including but not limited to:

• Monthly close processes to ensure accurate financial bookings and timely reporting of financials and subsequent analysis
• Identify, address, and communicate the main accounting risks to facilitate a clean monthly close
• Ensuring local statutory and tax compliance incl. VAT, Payroll, WHT and Transfer Pricing, liaising with the corporate tax and legal teams where necessary
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and help implement to obtain efficiencies
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Develop and maintain relationships with 3rd party accountants
• Ensure monthly payroll processes operate smoothly and that monthly reconciliation to the ledgers is performed.

• Advise leadership team on local macro-economic developments impacting local finances

End to end ownership of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, including but not limited to;

• Review and manage AR movement and aging against billing contracts.
• Design customer collection strategies based on territory necessities and customer profile.
• Manage, allocate and reconcile to subledger cash deposits on a daily basis.
• Analyze monthly aging and identify accounts at risk
• Maintain and build strong communication channels with customers, local agencies, third parties or partnerships.
• Monitor and ensure that third party collections processes are aligned with *** U policies.
• Efficiently process and post weekly payments from a diverse portfolio of International clients
• Collaborate cross-functionally with diverse teams to effectively resolve client/vendor disputes, fostering strong relationships.
• Identify and leverage the specific payment approval processes tailored to each client, thereby expediting timely payments.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Qualified accountant with at least 4 years of relevant accounting experience in US and local GAAP
• Experience in controllership / reporting and monthly close processes, including ERP systems preferably SAP.
• Experience with Argentina payroll
• Experience managing billing and collections processes in Argentina
• Strong analytics and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and high standards in quality and accurate reporting
• Bilingual: English/Spanish, both oral and written

The responsibility of this role as part of the EMEA Accounting Team based in Warsaw is to deliver all statutory, audit, outsourced accounting, and compliance matters for *** Discovery entities in the EMEA business streams. This role also ensures accurate monthly close and reporting of financial information to key stakeholders in accordance with US GAAP. Key aspects of this role are related to oversight of the operational activities of selected EMEA entities, with reconciliation and analysis, some transactions processing, by applying SOX controls in fulfilling daily and periodic quality requirements. This role includes the oversight of inter and intracompany activities as it relates to capturing and accounting those transactions. Reporting into Statutory & US GAAP Accounting Senior Manager, coordinating with other team members, by acting as one team.

The EMEA Accounting Team is responsible for multiple countries from one of the segments in the EMEA region, including UK, Hungary, Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, countries in the Adriatic region, Netherlands France, Poland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Spain, Portugal and more.

Your Role Accountabilities...

Lead and oversee the execution of general accounting controllership duties in selected EMEA territories for one of the businesses. Oversight responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Proactively manage statutory filing process through on-going engagement and communication with multiple company stakeholders, including the region CFO, heads of legal, general managers etc.; present financial statement reviews with senior leaders to obtain financial statement sign-off and ensure timely filing of obligations with appropriate country authorities
  
• Manage the annual statutory Financial Statement audits with PwC across multiple geographies for various *** Discovery legal entities, ensuring compliance with local GAAP
  
• Coordinate *** ween auditors (PwC), GBS hubs and local outsourced accounting firms to maintain a calendar of deliverables and deadlines for *** Discovery subsidiaries' local statutory and tax reporting requirements.
  
• Coordinate Ernst & Young relationship for accounting entities in the preparation of statutory and tax accounting for larger subsidiaries and fully outsourced accounting function for smaller subsidiaries as well as maintain detailed records and reconciliations of local GAAP adjustments
  
• Processing and oversight of accounting close process/teams/outsource providers to ensure an accurate and timely monthly close process
  
• Ensure monthly accounts are properly uploaded into parent's consolidation and reporting system
  
• Fulfill SEC and supplemental schedules requests from parent on detailed account information and footnote disclosure report
  
• Ensure close calendar dates and deadlines are met and deliverables are provided on time
  
• Ensure compliance with balance sheet reconciliation policy including completion of quality and timely reconciliations.
  
• Ensure compliance with SOX requirements, internal control environment
  
• Manage process improvements projects and standardization opportunities to gain greater efficiency and effectiveness.
  
• Partnering with other Teams e.g. PTP, OTC, Treasury, FP&A, FDs, VAT, Payroll, other Record to Report team members and proposing improvements
  
• Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for related policies and processes, supports continuous improvement, process changes and leading practices to have an efficient and effective process
  

Oversee and manage intercompany transactions in order to make sure that those are properly captured and accounted for:

• Identify transactions and liaise with tax team

Qualifications & Experience...

Essential:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or finance
  
• Qualified Accountant - CIMA, ACA or ACCA or similar

• Strong practical and technical accounting knowledge and experience including experience of month end management accounting,

Manager, Production Finance Reporting & Analytics

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing high-level industry support of original content production, along with broader content creation through development of our financial accounting and reporting process for original owned productions. This role will have a high degree of interaction with the company's finance leadership, production and executive teams. The candidate must be hands-on, entrepreneurial, passionate about content and physical production, quick-thinking, elastic, able to pivot when necessary, systematic, has impeccable ethics, and is able to juggle multiple and diverse projects with a strong emphasis on organization and an unwavering attention to detail. The candidate will execute on a vision to develop a world class production finance operations team, comprising of its people, systems and policies.

This individual should demonstrate a high aptitude for critical thinking and analysis, tax credit, financial systems and labor/union foundational knowledge. You will be a part of a dynamic and creative SPT Production Finance team working directly with our production business units. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner to management teams enterprise wide. He/she should be extremely comfortable counseling business partners and i *** uencing them towards decisions that have a valued business impact. The successful will work closely with freelance accountants during the course of production to provide compliance support.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary administrator for the Summary of Picture Cost (SOPC) platform, ensuring efficient consolidation of cost reports from various productions into a centralized database, while maintaining operational functionality and data integrity.
• Guarantee accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting, including regular quality checks and managing deadlines for information submissions from production units. Prepare and distribute an executive summary of financial reports to *** Television (SPT) executive stakeholders.
• Maintain effective communication with production finance teams, executive management, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment and providing critical financial insights for strategic decision-making.
• Constantly seek opportunities to improve the SOPC platform and the overall financial reporting and analytics process. Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the value of financial insights provided.
• Develop deep partnerships with studio technology and research teams to deliver on major cross-functional measurements, testing, and modeling efforts with studio's Data Warehouse.
• Build out a "best in class" production data support models.
• Develop new data management techniques to improve production cost forecasting.
• Liaise with corporate tax, production audit, controllership, production and government relations teams to ensure proper compliance, including refreshing studio documentation and desktop procedures.
• Identify and leverage production financial and operations data to develop standardize metrics, data tools and methods to enhance production decision support.
• Research and become a subject matter expert all domestic and international production centers.
• Participate with Director of Tax Credits and Incentives for C&I planning, production metrics and production data consolidation in support of future initiatives.
• Coordinate with production accountants, estimators, finance and legal teams on all tax and incentive matters facing our productions
• Maintain knowledge of current industry trends pertaining to television and film production.
• Develop and manage production accountant hiring/ recruiting database.
• Ensure that the SPT financial controllership and production policies and procedures are uniformly implemented operationally and that payroll/AP/Reporting are in accordance with standards established by SPT.
• Support projects pertaining to union MOA updates, rate increases and compliance issues.
• Perform ad-hoc projects as required.

Technical Skills:

• Advanced experience with Excel and other Microsoft / Apple products.
• Inter *** te/Advanced experience with Tableau/PowerBi/MicroStrategy VI tools.
• Inter *** te/Advanced knowledge of Global Vista, Movie Magic, PSL, and Smart Accounting products.
• SAP experience required.

Basic Qualifications:

• Education: BA/BS required (Finance, Quantitative Field or Accounting preferred. CPA, MBA or JD/LLM, a plus)
• Candidate must have 4+ years of film and/or television industry production finance or entertainment tax, or management audit experience.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $88,600-$121,700. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
