Your New Role...
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing timely and accurate reporting, analysis, and forecast support for the *** Discovery International Nets Segment, working with FP&A counterparts, systems groups, and accounting teams to meet business needs. You will develop deep competencies in this area, providing finance stakeholders the required information for reporting and decision making. Time mainly spent doing consolidated reporting, detailed tracking of drivers/variances, BAU and ad hoc analysis, and providing system support. We work closely with regional and functional FP&A teams, support special projects, and support data integrity across systems.
This position should supportconsolidation,analysis, and reporting activitiesofthe Profit&Lossstatements for International Networks segment within *** Bros.Discoveryin different cycles (Actuals, ForecastandPlan).
Supports Monthly financial business closing and forecasting (monthlyupdates with different scenarios of comparisons) actively participating with the stakeholders to analyze and understand the main P&L variations. Looks for logical explanations to understand the business, prepares Ad Hoc analysis and special projects according to the business needs, identify improvements in the internal processes.
Your Role Accountabilities...
- Participate in the month-end close and Forecasting processes from an FP&A
- Provide insight of financial performance through accurate, timely and relevant reporting.
- Performs reconciliations and tie-out of International Nets profit & loss statement for all planning cycles across the applicable systems within the Company.
- Demonstrate and maintain high standards of accountability to deliver superior quality financial information on a timely basis to FP&A.
- Interpretation and clear communication of results, reports, and analysis.
- Summarize variance analysis and understand drivers to explain performance.
- Provide timely resolution of issues and post-close activities.
- Support the annual budget process, including the design of templates and the critical review of planning assumptions
- Data governance in the EPM systems of WBD (BPC SAP & Hyperion) through departments hierarchy maintenance/clean-up, system uploads etc.
- Provides Mid- and Top Management with commentary (verbal and written) on results reported as needed and respond to inquiries related.
- Build strong relationships with partner teams to enable the necessary flow of information and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in meetings with FP&A counterparts to understand the business and ensure consistency in telling the story and presenting financials.
- Regularly interact with various business partners from different locations across EMEA, Asia and Latin regions
- Partner with Finance Executives to provide regular updates with analysis of the performance.
- Raise queries to FP&A teams based on analysis and insights into Management Information
- Support management reporting needs to ensure proper reflection in the system and financial reports.
- Prepares periodic and ad hoc analysis to provide a business visibility for decision making, creating different views of the information.
- Manage financial data requests as needed, generating insights.
- Handlesotherspecialprojectsasrequired and other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Design, lead implementation, maintain, and improve processes/ finance systems / tools simplifying reporting/planning/analysis
- Drive process simplification initiatives and continuously improve reporting capabilities - develop automated self-ser *** reporting tools for finance teams and budget holders to reduce manual workload and ad-hoc requests.
- Collaborate across boundary partners and share best practices with other FP&A teams.
Qualifications & Experience...
- 4+ years of working experience preferably with experience in FP&A department
- Strong oral and written English communication skills.
- Ability to build confidence and trust with department members and finance partners/ counterparts on all levelsofmanagement.
- Critical thinker and strong problem solver with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Very quick learner, especially in fast-paced environments with complex concepts and data structures
- Ability to frame issues, articulate findings, and present optimal solutions.
- Assured self-starter on relevant projects and work is a plus.
- Pro-active and hands-on
- General accounting knowledge (accruals, prepayments, costs recognition)
- Understanding of FP&A cycles & processes: month end close, forecasting and budgeting.
- Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational, problem solving and collaboration skills.
- High attention to details and financials reconciliation,
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (power pivot, basic VBA etc.) & PowerPoint skills
- Strong IT affinity to drive required digital agenda in FP&A (SAP, Oracle Smartview, EPM ie. Hyperion, SAP BPC, SAP Analysis)
- Must possess a flexible work style and be able to work beyond the normal schedule during peak periods to meet deadlines.
- Must be a team player with high-level of interpersonal skills and customer-focus.
- No travel expected.
- Previous experience in entertainment is a plus.
