OVERVIEW
We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Accountant to join our Branded Content team at Vox Creative. The Production Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial management throughout the production process. This individual will work closely with the Director of Budgets and Scoping, Line Producers, Scoping Team, and Ops team to track budgets, approve invoices, and maintain financial records.
This is a temporary, project-based role. Project-based employees (PBEs) are hired on a temporary basis to render services for a discrete project, production and for a pre-established period through an authorized payroll service provider. The payroll service provider will serve as the PBEs employer of record. PBEs will receive a Deal Memo which summarizes their employment terms.
The project dates are currently anticipated to be from June 2024 to December 2024. Candidates for this role will need to be available to work within this time frame.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide operational support to Vox Creative Productions, with a focus on the video, social, audio and photo accounting processes. Daily tasks may include:
- Cross-referencing Production Budgets: Compare and analyze video, social, audio, and photo production budgets against finance cost reports to ensure accuracy and consistency. Keep track of trends on savings and report back to Line Producer on potential cost savings measures and efficiencies for future productions.
- Actualizing Budgets: Update and adjust budgets and their respective cost reports based on actual expenses and financial reports, ensuring that expenditures align with approved budgets.
- Wrap Budgets: Facilitate the finalization of budgets upon completion of production projects, ensuring that all expenses are properly accounted for and documented.
- Ops Budget Update Notes: Under direction of Line Producer, ensure Ops budget notes are accurate in Airtable as budgets actualize.
- Invoice Approval and Spend Tracking: Review and approve requisitions in Coupa, tracking expenditures and comparing them against established budgets to maintain financial control.
- Airtable Maintenance: Maintain Airtable databases with accurate wrap information, ensuring that all relevant data is up-to-date and accessible to the Line Producer and Ops team.
- Reporting: Prepare and deliver reports to the Line Producer and Director of Budgets and Scoping on status, expenditure trends, and any significant financial matters affecting production.
- Platform Proficiency: Utilize various platforms including Airtable, Google Sheets, Asana, Slack, and Coupa to perform job duties efficiently and effectively. Will be trained on specific systems as they relate to day-to-day tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience as a Production Accountant or similar role within the entertainment industry is required.
3+ years of Production Experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with acute attention to details.
- Higher level understanding of mathematics, direct and indirect spending, budgets and holding the line with production execution
- Knowledge of Production workflow
- Knowledge of contracts and invoicing workflow
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work with varying stakeholders across multiple teams on tracking + reporting.
The compensation range listed represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.
$1,700 - $1,800 weekly exempt. This position is a project based role and may be eligible for benefits through Greenslate, Vox’s designated payroll partner.
