This position will report to the Design Integration Team Lead of *** 's Facilities Asset Management.
What You Will Do
- Support the Facilities Asset Management organization's project management team by coordinating with allied FAM Design, Creative, Show/Ride, and Operating partners.
- Lead and manage the design process from concept to completion while ensuring design excellence and adherence to the set budget and timeline constraints.
- Write a detailed scope for work and provide RFP's to hire consultants that provide a full range of design and construction administration services.
- Manage the efforts of a multi-discipline team of consultants to ensure design deliverables meet the requirements of the RFP and scope of work.
- Support implementation of project goals through the development of design solutions; ensure adherence to department/divisional Standards of Practice.
- Prepare Facility/Attraction base information documentation (e.g. existing condition descriptions).
- Introduce innovative design concepts and sustainable solutions to improve the guest experience.
- Develop and execute strategies, utilizing partnerships with stakeholders, to ensure seamless execution of facilities renovation projects.
- Provide project leadership to consultants to whom design is outsourced for FAM projects.
- Clearly communicate architectural concepts, project status, and recommendations to facilitate decision-making at the highest levels.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Registered Architect in the State of Florida or registered Architect in another State and meeting all qualifications for registration as an architect in the State of Florida.
- No less than six years working in an architectural practice.
- Construction phase experience including the submittal/shop drawing review process and on-site field inspections.
- Experience specifying and detailing building materials and products for thematic applications.
- Proficiency in CADD and BIM (Revit and AutoCad).
- Demonstrate technical knowledge of architectural design and construction techniques.
- Knowledge of area development-related areas, including architecture, land planning, civil engineering, site lighting, and graphic design.
- Experience in a client-facing role within the architectural industry.
- Strong business development skills with a track record of securing and managing architectural projects.
- Outstanding presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas to executives and other key decision-makers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Solid understanding of *** theme parks and storytelling through area development; pursue deeper knowledge of *** traditions, history, and theme parks globally through *** educational opportunities and study (themed environments or architecture in an entertainment organization).
- Membership in one or more professional organizations such as the American Institute of Architects, Urban Land Institute, Construction Specifications Institute, or U.S. Green Building Council.
- Experience working with digital illustration tools such as Maya, Rhino, Photoshop, Illustrator, and SketchUp.
- Familiarity with facility management and operations is preferred.
- At least two years leading a diverse team of architects, engineers, and designers to successfully deliver a project.
- Master of Architecture, Urban Planning, or Landscape Architecture from an accredited program
Education
- Bachelor of Architecture degree from an accredited program
- U.S. Professional License credential
