Seeking a Culinary Producer for an upcoming DFW area television pilot. Must be able to work as a local. Culinary Producer would work with local area chefs to understand the recipes/process and ensure chefs/recipes are prepped and ready to film. Additional details below:
Dates:
Exact dates are TBD. 8-9 days of Production shot over a 3-4 week span (Early July - mid-August). 1 Week of Preproduction prior to filming.
Experience:
Culinary degree with focus and expertise in Pastry and Baking a plus
At least 2 years Culinary Producing, with travelogue experience
Duties to Include:
1. Work with Production team to hone-in on dishes/process needed for the story. Provide insight into making sure there are different techniques and processes and which are the most interesting for the story.
2. Speak with locations prior to the shoot day about all of the food shots and process the production will need.
3. Make sure all ingredients are in their rawest stage of the recipe so we can watch the recipe come to life step by step.
4. All ingredients should be in camera ready bowls/vessels.
5. Any food (Cakes) that needs more that 5-10 minutes of cook time should have a swap-out standing by in same vessel (Sheet Pan, Cake Pan, etc.)
6. Make sure there is enough of the finished product for beauty shots, tasting for guests, and backups just in case
7. Assist Location during food process. Setting up shots, having all ingredients on standby ready for next shots, help clearing, etc.
8. Give useful insight and talking points to producers about the recipe process at each location.
9. Oversee all beauty shots for finished dishes.
10. Work with DP to make sure lighting is accurate.
11. Pre-plan what the look of the beauty shots will be (Background, tabletops, plating) Everything should represent the locations feel as much as possible, no black background floating into space feel.
