PennLive, an online news site covering the entirety of Pennsylvania, is seeking a director of videography to lead a four-person team and work with the entire staff to enhance our daily video report. This is a full-time salaried position located in Central Pennsylvania. Our locale offers convenient access to New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington and other large cities within a few hours drive.

This position creates, produces and edits short, highly shareable videos in sports, culture, food and more. You must be an active consumer of web and social videos as well as a proven creator of videos that build audience.

You will offer shooting and editing help with other team members’ videos. And you must have the ability to produce in-studio programming as well as remote video. This position shares with others the responsibility for brainstorming new video concepts and improving the overall quality of our visual storytelling.

Here’s a few things you’ll need:

 Degree in Visual Communication, Journalism, Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Art Graphic Design, Web Design, or a related field or equivalent experience that demonstrates great visual storytelling skills.
 Recent experience in video, graphic design or multimedia development.
 Strong web, video, and multimedia authoring skills and emerging technologies
 Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, Bridge, Acrobat. Proficiency in Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Motion, Logic Pro, Soundtrack Pro, Premiere Pro and other audio and editing software.
 Demonstrated ability to manage and meet production timelines
 An understanding of multiple platforms – desktop, mobile, social media, TV, etc.
 Mastery of social media and digital interaction
 An understanding of short and long-form narrative structures.
