Producer/Shooter needed for short, branded internet series being produced by Emmy-award winning production company based in Los Angeles.

Posting in Chicago, but this job is actually in Peoria, IL.

Project involves a corporate-sponsored, national sweepstakes giveaway, the prize announcements for which our production team needs to document for release on web platforms, such as YouTube, social media, etc.

Due to the nature of the sweepstakes, we may have less than 24 hours to coordinate shoots with the prize-winners. As such, candidates must be flexible and work well under tight deadlines.

Other requirements include the following:

-Must be able to operate professional/prosumer-level HD camera equipment with on-board audio, while directing and interviewing talent, driving creative, and capturing necessary coverage.

-Preferred candidates should own, have access to, or know where to rent camera gear locally. We will reimburse for personal kit rentals on camera/audio equipment or pay for gear rentals with local camera houses as needed.

-Must have laptop/computer with internet access and be able to transfer media/footage via cloud storage.

-Must have reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license. We will reimburse for mileage.

-Should know or have quick references for local PA’s to assist with your shoot.

Job Description

*** Chicago is looking for a Political/Investigative Producer who's creative, collaborative, and results-driven to join our award-winning News department.

Responsibilities include:

Research, write, and produce political content for *** , along with all digital platforms, including stories and teases as assigned by producers, platform managers and the Political reporter
Develop a network of sources and experts to generate enterprise consumer stories on a daily basis
Monitor, vet and research incoming political tips
Identify trends in politics for enterprise news stories
Assist with development of digital video series, podcasts, and other multiplatform projects
Provide editorial guidance; establish contacts in the political field, manage tips and public records requests, compose open records requests, and conduct interviews
Perform investigations which may include undercover work or surveillance as necessary

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience
Relevant experience in television news production
Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays, when necessary

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

At least 3 years of experience in newsgathering and/or production
Field producing experience
Fluent in English and Spanish a plus
Experience partnering with legal and working knowledge of federal, state and local laws impacting operations as they relate to investigations, undercover content and hidden cameras

The senior producer will play a key role helping to devise the editorial and booking strategy and coordinate show production for the program.
