Your New Role...

Audio II Technician for remote sports broadcast show.

Your Role Accountabilities...

Operate all broadcast equipment and technology within assigned operating areas, including but not limitedto:audio mixing consoles, outboard equipment, audio & video routing, digital audio delivery servers, microphone & IFBs and their signal flows, mix minus, intercom devices & software, broadcast routers, etc. Measures audio signals to ensure quality control of *** Sports endorsed standards on all operations using comprehensive knowledge of broadcast methods

Prioritize and disseminate complex information among the entire control room/studio/remote crews in a clear and concise manner to ensure seamless productions
Become fully knowledgeable in all aspects of operation and basic maintenance of the production audio systems including but not limited to: audio console, RTS intercom system programming, audio server routing, RF microphones and IFBs as well as other audio or communication related support systems
Work creatively and collaboratively with Production and Operations management to establish sound production practices for the delivery of content within sports, news, and topical programming

Qualifications & Experience...

Proficient level of operational skills and abilities in the use of all broadcast equipment and technology within assigned operating areas, including but not limited to; audio mixing consoles, outboard equipment, MADI router, digital audio delivery servers, microphone and IFB signal flows, mix minus, intercom devices, broadcast routers, etc.

Minimum of 4 years practical TV Production or related experience at the large market or network level.
Solid knowledge of all TV Production equipment and technology within assigned operating areas, including but not limited to; non-linear edit systems, broadcast routers, *** management process and applications, technical standards, etc.
Must be a collaborative team player who works well with others, in a fast paced, dynamic studio environment
Qualified applicants must demonstrate and maintain an understanding of established industry standards, equipment and quality control
Must be willing to travel from home market

Sound Mixer

Full Time

Responsible for all aspects of sound production for live news, remote and studio broadcasts, and recorded shows. Duties will be production mixing, A-2, stage monitor mixer, and general audio needs in the plant, as needed.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Setting up, testing and adjusting sound and recording equipment, adjusting, and testing the equipment.
Creating, maintaining, and adjusting proper mix of sound sources in live and/or recorded production.
Mixing for live news and various live and pre-recorded productions.
Planning and setting up on stage for live music, dance, and theatrical performances, including stage personal (A-2), monitor or musical production mixing.
Communicating effectively with the Control Room including Producers, Directors, and Stage Managers
Keeping up to date with the newest techniques and best practices within audio
Troubleshooting audio problems.
Remote production audio mixing, planning and setup. Build console configuration, transmission and recording paths, create IFB and mix-minus feeds.
A2 audio duties as needed.
Set up and operate in-house P.A. and conferencing needs.

S****S & EXPERIENCE

Must be organized and methodical.
Undergraduate degree in broadcast technology radio/TV/film or equivalent related experience
Minimum (3) three years of technical experience as an Audio Mixer
Must be proficient in microphone techniques and all aspects of mixing and sound support for Studio and Remote Field Production
Fast learner and adaptive to new workflows and key commands
A detailed ear for EQ (especially dialogue)
Trouble shooting and problem-solving.
Ability to setup and configure digital audio boards with experience using SSL, Calrec and Yamaha boards preferred.
Able to perform all duties under high stress situations and conditions.
Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
Strong knowledge of production and recording sound techniques.
Familiarity with DANTE and Madi.
Knowledge of Pro Tools, Audition and/or Audacity a plus.
Experience with music recording/broadcast, FOH or stage monitor mixing.

Compensation - $48.15/hr+ commensurate with experience and skills

JOB DESCRIPTION
*** News *** is seeking a skilled Freelance Audio Operator to join our D.C. Bureau. The Freelance Audio Operator will provide technical operational support for our studio and control room team. Candidates must be experienced with running an audio console for live and recorded programming.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate audio board for live newscasts and productions
Maintain studio audio equipment
Manage audio for live and taped broadcasts, including mic sources and IFBs
Work with technical staff to satisfy production needs for live and pre-recorded programming
Perform facility checks with A2 and Stage Manager for all mic and IFB positions in the studio before daily production begins, including studio setup
Other duties as assigned

**** YOU **** NEED

Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience
3 years of experience in a TV Studio environment preferred
Excellent communication skills required
Must be a team player who works well with others in a fast-paced dynamic studio environment
Ability to work under pressure
Must be able to work in a control room for at least 2 hours without a break
Proficient in building and executing of effects and shows on the Calrec Sigma, Artemis, and SSL System T consoles
Strong knowledge of audio patch bays, Hydra BSP, signal flow, Enco playout system, and the ability to troubleshoot during live productions
Flexibility to work non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays

The Audio Operator is responsible for sound checks, equipment placement, volume and quality of sound during live and taped productions.
