This is a role for a dynamic transformation leader who knows news and can coordinate demo-targeted content for all WBZ platforms. The ideal candidate is someone who can help grow our team and ratings while setting a high standard for news quality through feedback and mentorship.
Overview and Responsibilities: - Manage a team of anchors, reporters, producers, meteorologists, photojournalists, digital content producers, and editors with strong editorial judgement.
- Exhibit strong editorial judgement, effective communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Create content by utilizing the latest news gathering technology to shoot and edit stories.
- Cultivate a work environment that encourages fresh ideas, risk taking, and community engagement for our multi-platform audiences.
- Support the station's objective of prioritizing digital-first content growth through daily editorial choices.
- Uphold impeccable grammar, spelling, and attention to detail in all content that is produced.
- Work in the newsroom and control room demonstrating adaptability and composure in fast paced situations.
Basic Qualifications: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in broadcast or cable news; at least 3 years of newsroom management experience.
- Prior experience in a live control room, including serving as a line producer in a live-news environment.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with streaming platforms and working knowledge of digital video production techniques and online content management.
- This position requires working weekends and holidays.
