Job Summary/Description:

**** is an award-winning, dominant number one station looking for a knowledgeable forecaster, compelling storyteller and team player for the role of Meteorologist/Digital Content Producer. The ideal candidate will have a comfortable on-air appearance and be able to break down complex weather situations into easy-to-understand broadcast and online weathercasts as well providing written stories and multi *** weather content for all platforms.

Duties/Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

* Analyze weather data and prepare detailed and engaging weather forecasts.
* Familiarity with WSI weather system and software is a plus.
* Ability to multi-task, handle breaking news and breaking weather and adapt to rapidly changing events.
* Cover other shifts as assigned, as well as flexibility to cover shifts during severe weather or other breaking news events.
* Post daily stories to our digital platforms and social *** , while also being actively involved on station's social *** platforms and responsive to viewer inquiries.
* Public appearances as a station representative maintaining a professional image both on air and off.
* Represent **** at community and station-sponsored events, including school presentations.
* Perform other duties as needed and assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, or a related field.
* Ability to write web stories detailing the weather forecast.
* Knowledgeable with WSI MAX is a plus.
* Ability to write for broadcast news and digital platforms.
* Ability to shoot and edit video is a plus.
* Understanding of principal journalistic ethics.
* Ability to carry and utilize broadcast camera equipment in the field (25 lbs.).
* Flexible schedule for severe weather coverage.
* A clean driving record, the ability to drive in various weather conditions, and a valid driver's license are requirements for this position.

Job Summary/Description:

**** is looking for a full-time producer. Successful candidates must utilize strong editorial, journalistic, leadership, organizational and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be able to make the newscast unique and memorable on this dominant #1 station. The ideal candidate develops and enterprises stories daily and communicates well with co-workers and the community. The candidate will also be required to run the assignment desk, and post stories to our station's website.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Deliver on-air news events in an engaging, exciting, and accurate manner
• Use editorial judgment to help determine content of the newscasts
• Work with reporters and news team to create unique, fast-paced newscasts
• Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of *** (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance newscasts and stories
• Write for the web and post daily on all digital platforms including social *** and attaching images and streaming video
• Interview news subjects and research for facts and credibility
• Perform other tasks as required by news managers
• Deliver breaking news coverage and special event coverage to the community at large
• Edit video for broadcasts and the web
• Participate in community events and makes public appearances on behalf of the station as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Degree in broadcast journalism preferred. English majors and print journalists are encouraged to apply
• Must be able to work flexible days and hours
• Ability to handle moderate to high stress and deadline pressure
• Strong editorial skills and working knowledge of AP and Broadcast Style are also preferred
• MVR Check

**** is looking for a dynamic evening anchor with exceptional communication skills to join our top-rated legacy news station. This is a high-profile position demanding leadership and initiative. The ideal candidate will be adept at anchoring breaking news and enterprising community-centered stories. As an anchor, you must excel at developing sources and cultivating relationships in the South-Central Kentucky community. Producing newscasts will also be required. We are looking for a journalist who has a positive, can-do attitude, that inspires the team to help our station win on every platform, including on-air, digital, social, and OTT, every single day.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

* Co-anchor newscasts Monday-Friday
* Develop lead story ideas and contribute daily to content decisions
* Report on special projects as assigned
* Conduct live interviews and anchor continuous coverage
* Strong fact-checking skills and copy-editing ability
* Contribute stories to all platforms – streaming, website, and social ***
* Represent the station in the community and for various promotional events
* Writes stories, teases, and other important content to contribute to the overall quality of the newscasts
* Helps evaluate leads and tips to develop story ideas
* Covers news in the field when necessary

Qualifications/Requirements:

* At least 2 years of experience as a news anchor
* College degree or equivalent job experience in a journalism-related field
* Must be able to work quickly, meet deadlines, multi-task, and show composure, especially during high-pressure breaking news situations
* Clear understanding of journalistic ethics
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Understanding of and adherence to AP Style and broadcast writing
