Job Description

The Researcher position at Nightly News Weekend is a great opportunity to learn and master all of the building blocks of broadcast news, while also gaining experience working on deeply reported and highly produced pieces for air.

As a Researcher, you will work directly with Producers and Senior Producers to help write and assist in the production of original content for Nightly News.

Responsibilities:

Assist in producing original news content, primarily for broadcast, including, but not limited to, research, conducting interviews, writer and editing scripts, field producing and shooting, and overseeing editing
Search social *** for video and characters, and get the proper permissions
Pitch story ideas and work on assigned stories developed by the editorial team
Work with Senior Producers and Director in managing all aspects of the rundown, including timing, graphic and tape elements
Edit short video clips to air on the broadcast, and coordinate graphic requests *** ween the producers and artists

Qualifications

Must have at least two years editorial experience working in production at the network level

Role Purpose

The Research Coordinator will provide full administrative support to the SVP, Entertainment Research & Decision Sciences for the Entertainment Networks ( *** , Bravo, E!, Oxygen, SYFY, Universal Kids, & USA) and serve as liaison with both internal constituents and external vendors. Ideate, plan and execute on department events/experiences to drive team culture

The ideal Producer understands what makes great social and YouTube video, has a contemporary sense of style and aesthetics, is highly organized, capable researcher, and can comfortably run a set and deliver an edit that brings ideas to life. Proven experience producing video for digital publishers is preferred. Bonus points for experience as an on-camera talent.

Contributions:

Bring fresh story, execution, and edit ideas to the video strategy and a can-do approach to getting those videos out into the world, fast. Fluidly jump *** ween pre-pro, production and post-production while juggling various productions at once.

Pay Range
Salary: $62,400 - $75,000
