Seeking an experienced Field AP to work on a docu-series in Vernal, UT for 3 months.

Seasoned applicants only, this is not for beginners. The show is a multiple cam docu-reality series. Candidates must be good note-takers, able to prep and edit hot sheets, track story beats, research, experienced with booking locations and talent, be resourceful, able to handle releases, and comfortable managing cast, taking production stills. Crew hotel will be in Vernal, UT.

Rugged location/outdoor shoot in high desert Utah, hiking, hot and long days.
Science/Experiment experience preferred
Strong Field note experience (must be able to take great field notes from a moving UTV and/or the top of a Mesa with no cell service).
Team player (everyone helps with everything. We are a team watching out for each other while also tracking great story).
Ready to adjust to a day changing at a heartbeat.
You must be good at paying close attention to details, a fast and accurate typer, and have familiarity with Timecode+ on the iPad, for your note taking.

This real-life story is about a female daredevil who decides to travel to her home country in south america upon learning hell has broken loose and the country is in the precipice of change or destruction.

What started as a 2 week documentary about the indomitable will of the local people as a feel good story, turned in over 2 months of undercover journalism, learning about narco-terrorism, bribes, gun smuggling, hundreds of contacts with the local military, US department of state contractors, gun dealers, government agents, and a once paradise, being now used for the narcos for their operations.

All these information being told from the perspective of a female who initially just wanted to head home and see how she could make a difference.

I have shot amazing footage in locations rarely given access to, partner with strategic allies in the local government and am ready to put the story together, I just need a visionary that will help me make it a reality.

Did I also forget to mention there are also Enchanted islands and a breathtaking backdrop in one of the most beautiful (yet currently dangerous) places on Earth?

This might be a very unconventional way to put together a project, but maybe it's time to disrupt the way the industry works.

We prioritize original storytelling and investigative journalism as key components of our newscasts to set our product apart in the Knoxville market. Responsibilities:

Use your natural curiosity to pitch compelling stories.
Show off your creativity and storytelling skills.
Craft stories of all lengths on all platforms for specific audiences.
Meet daily deadlines.
Combine live pictures, graphics, compelling video and emotional sound to create an engaging experience for our audience.
Booth continuous coverage on our live streams for breaking news and community events.
Consistently try new things after thoughtful discussion with supervisors.
Allow the impactful and emotional conversations the community needs to drive the content in your rundown.
Use data analytics to help shape the content of your show.
Challenge traditional ways of doing things.
Advocate for underrepresented people, communities and viewpoints to have a voice and presence in your show.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree preferred in journalism, communications or related field or equivalent years of experience.
1year of news content experience.
Top-notch communication skills are an absolute must.
Solid journalistic judgement and a news philosophy that emphasizes accurate, fair and unique local content, along with community engagement.
Understanding of the tenets of professional journalism.
Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content.
Strong social *** skills, including an active news hound presence on your preferred social platforms.
Organizational skills and the ability to work under time pressure deadlines.
Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events.
ENPS and Edius system experience preferred.
