Summary
Religion of Sports is seeking a bright, multitasking, dynamic, and self-motivated Development Producer to join a team of fun, hard working individuals ranging from talented filmmakers to writers to producers to podcasters at one of the most relevant sports documentary production companies in the US. The position provides hands on experience working with the makers behind award-winning programs such as Tom vs. Time, Shut Up and Dribble, and Why We Fight.

Position
A Development Producer is responsible for developing conceptually unique projects and packaging those ideas for the market. This role will cover all phases of video development - from initial idea generation until green light. Reporting to the Head of Development, the Development Producer role is at the forefront of the company’s latest ideas and unique sales approach; and is consistently striving to create new opportunities for Religion of Sports.

Job Functions
- Shepherd existing/active projects through story and design development to green-light status
- Develop and grow the company’s Creator Network: bring in new writers, directors, actors, illustrators, creative consultants, etc… who would be potentially good collaborators
- Target source material (scripts, books, magazine articles etc.)
- Build key relationships with sports talent (managers, agents, brands and athletes) and explore potential for future partnerships
- Execute dynamic and stunning sales decks
- Understand and pitch powerful storytelling set in a sports context
- Be comfortable working across the scripted and non-scripted space
- Oversee and manage additional graphic artists and deck makers
- Provide clear feedback to creative teams at all stages of development
- Work closely with the Head of Development and the Production team regarding key timelines and resource sharing
- Help generate sizzles and short edits that support the development process

Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive experience working in content for feature film and TV production required
- Proven ability to collaborate well and to be a great team member
- Ability to present ideas in a clear, articulate and engaging manner
- Extremely detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking is required
- Basic understanding of creative and commercial relationships in the international and domestic film, TV development and production space: including digital and new platforms
- Excellent computer skills including - and especially InDesign and Photoshop
- An excellent creative and visual eye
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
- A clear knowledge of the television production process.
- Deep enthusiasm for sports

Salary Is Commensurate With Skills And Experience.

Must be based near Los Angeles. Office in Santa Monica (but all work remote for the moment)
